Mintzlaff je přesvědčený, že Red Bull ještě neukázal všechny své trumfy. Ví, že po čtyřech veleúspěšných sezonách je třetí místo zklamáním, ale zároveň věří ve svůj tým a jeho schopnost vrátit se na vrchol.
„Naše výsledky zaostávají za očekáváními, ale nepanikaříme. Sezona F1 je dlouhá a rozhodovat se bude až na jejím konci. Přes neuspokojivý vstup do sezony jsme třetí v šampionátu jezdců i konstruktérů. Nic není ztraceno. Každý, kdo nás odepisuje, dělá chybu,“ uvedl Mintzlaff v rozhovoru pro deník Bild.
„S Ralfem mám dobrý vztah. On dělá svou práci a my se soustředíme na sebe. On ale opomíjí fakt, že Red Bull v posledních čtyřech letech dominoval. Získal šest z osmi možných titulů a velká část týmu zůstala i pro letošek. Stále chtějí vyhrávat a během zimní pauzy rozhodně nezapomněli, jak postavit nebo vyladit vůz.“
„Všichni jsme nespokojeni se současnou situací, to nechceme zastírat, ale přesto jsem přesvědčen, že Max bude i v roce 2026 pokračovat v dlouhé cestě, kterou s Red Bullem dosud urazil. Jednou mi řekl, že svou kariéru v Red Bullu začal a rád by ji tam i zakončil. Pokud vím, nic se v tomto ohledu nezměnilo,“ pokouší se Mintzlaff vyvrátit zvěsti o potenciálním přestupu úřadujícího mistra světa k Aston Martinu nebo Mercedesu.
„Hodně jsme z něj, nejlepšího jezdce na světě, těžili, ale i on stáji za mnohé vděčí. Nemám pocit, že by o tom Max pochyboval. Pořád chceme postavit nejlepší auto na světě a vyhrávat. V tomto ohledu s Maxem táhneme za jeden provaz. K dlouhodobému partnerství patří také držet při sobě v těžkých časech.“

Situaci v Red Bullu neusnadňují ani neshody mezi šéfem stáje Christianem Hornerem a poradcem pro motorsport Helmutem Markem. „Mám plnou důvěru v každého zaměstnance. To platí i pro náš manažerský tým. Helmut i Christian chtějí maximální úspěch a vše mu podřizují. V posledních několika dnech jsme o tom také znovu diskutovali,“ zastával se jich Mintzlaff.
Nezapomínejte, že příští Velká cena Miami bude pro Hornera a Marka 400. společná. Ani na to, že právě Helmut v roce 2005 Christiana zaměstnal. Mají toho hodně společného. Je jasné, že při všem tom tlaku, emocích a vášni občas dojde k tření, ale pak si musíte společně sednout a probrat to za zavřenými dveřmi. A to je to, co děláme,“ uzavřel.
