Casagrande vê o Santos “fugindo” da própria realidade em 2025. Apesar do início irregular no Brasileirão e o time sem um treinador definido, o comentarista vê uma maior prioridade atrelada ao contrato de Neymar. Neste cenário, como o atacante se machucou novamente e não tem espaço em grandes times da Europa, o foco da diretoria foi alvo de críticas.
“O Santos continua sem treinador, está na zona de rebaixamento, e a prioridade é renovar o contrato do Neymar, que não tem mercado nenhum, está machucado e não jogou nada ainda.”, escreveu Casão, em coluna no UOL Esporte.
A renovação não deveria ser a prioridade, e nem precisa de pressa, porque não existe nenhum clube que queira o Neymar nesse momento.”, acrescentou.
Preocupação para o Santos?
Enquanto Neymar segue fora de combate, Casagrande sugere outra prioridade ao Santos. Isso porque o Peixe, no momento, se encontra na zona de rebaixamento do Brasileirão e, mesmo com uma grande margem para reação, o rebaixamento em 2023 mostrou que é necessário reagir logo no início do campeonato.
“Será que ninguém está preocupado com a situação da classificação do Campeonato Brasileiro? A 18ª colocação deveria estar causando arrepios em todos lá na Vila Belmiro, mas parecem estar todos entusiasmados com a possibilidade de uma possível renovação de contrato do Neymar.”
“Ou o Santos para de viver num universo paralelo, ou o final dessa história poderá ser trágico novamente.”, opinou.

Situação de Neymar
Diante da proximidade da Copa do Mundo, o Santos confia na permanência de Neymar. Otimista, Marcelo Teixeira, presidente do clube, acredita que o Peixe está pronto para atender as exigências do camisa 10 para o vínculo, de fato, ganhar uma extensão.
“Há uma chance muito grande de se, se ele tiver essa vontade e o Santos também tem, de nós fazermos, mais uma vez, essa renovação, com vistas a ficar até a Copa do Mundo do ano que vem. Esse é o projeto principal, de seis meses, com a viabilidade de que, com essa ambientação, tudo que está acontecendo, a chance de renovar é muito grande.”, externou Marcelo Teixeira à TV Globo.
