Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott has once again opened up his heart to honor the memory of his late brother, Jace Prescott, with a moving Instagram post.
“I miss you Moose! We love you brother, you’ll never be forgotten,” Dak wrote, alongside a photo that touched fans across the NFL. The heartfelt message comes nearly four years after Jace‘s tragic death by suicide in 2020 and echoes the emotional tribute Dak gave last year, which stirred national conversation about mental health and grief in professional sports.
Prescott has long been candid about the pain of losing Jace, who died by suicide at age 31. Dak has previously reflected on the difficult journey of healing: “The only thing that gets me through is knowing he’s still with me every day.” Jace, affectionately known by family and friends as “Moose,” was not only Dak’s older brother but also a father figure and source of strength during Dak‘s rise to NFL stardom.
A voice for mental health in the NFL
Since Jace’s passing, Prescott has become one of the most prominent voices in the NFL advocating for mental health awareness. His willingness to speak about depression, vulnerability, and therapy has helped dismantle stigmas surrounding athletes’ emotional well-being. “People need to know they’re not alone,” Prescott said in previous interviews. “I wish my brother had talked more.”
The pain of Jace’s absence is still deeply felt, and Dak’s recent message underscores how that kind of loss doesn’t fade-it evolves. As the Cowboys gear up for another NFL season, Dak carries more than just the pressure of wins and losses; he carries his brother’s memory with every snap.
