The rivalry between Chicago Sky’s Angel Reese and Indiana Fever’s Caitlin Clark was something that was meant to be kept on the court alone. However, it went beyond that.
Although they play different positions, they have been in the spotlight since the 2023 NCAA National Championship. When Caitlin was still playing for Iowa Hawkeyes and fell to LSU from Reese, Angel taunted CC in a controversial video with the “you don’t see me” gesture. “Caitlin Clark, I’m not the one who should disrespect you,” Reese said in the video. “I disrespect here. I’m talking.”

Although this happened years ago, the controversy was sparked again due to the Sky star recently claiming in an interview that she had never said anything negative to a rival and that she “loved Caitlin.”
The video went viral on X and, in response, @type63LB mentioned the video where Reese mocks Clark: “So this is actually a lie,” he wrote.

There, the comments were not long in coming: “She is the worst. Just the absolute f* worst lol” said one user. “I was fine with her did it in court when they still playing but did it on ig livestream unprovoked???? she just hate cc and cc didn’t even do that ‘you can’t see me’ hand sign to her in the first place,” said one fan. “The crazy part is she inserted herself into someone else business then tried to backtrack,” added another user.
Reese vs. Clark rivalry
Caitlin Clark dazzled everyone during her rookie season in 2024, taking 66 of 67 votes for Rookie of the Year. The remaining vote went to Angel Reese.
The Sky forward averaged 13.6 points and 13.1 rebounds, but Clark averaged 19.2 points, 5.7 rebounds and 8.4 assists and led the Indiana Fever to the Playoffs after almost 8 years.
In this new season about to start, both are expected to shine for their teams. Will it affect their rivalry off the court?
