Prince Louis, the youngest child of Prince William and Princess Kate, is celebrating his seventh birthday – and along with the adorable new portrait released by Kensington Palace, royal insiders are shedding light on the close relationship he shares with both sets of grandparents.
Described as “boisterous” and “cheeky,” Louis continues to charm the public, but those closest to the family say his loving bond with King Charles and Carole and Michael Middleton plays a huge part in his happy and confident nature. According to sources, the King is particularly fond of Louis’ energetic personality, while the Middletons are a constant, grounding presence in his life.
A photograph taken by the Princess of Wales shows Louis grinning while lying on a blanket in the grass – capturing his playful essence and celebrating another year of growth and joy for the young prince.
Royal support system behind the scenes
While Princess Kate continues her recovery following her cancer diagnosis, the role of family – particularly the grandparents – has become even more essential. Both King Charles and the Middletons have reportedly stepped in to offer support, not just emotionally but practically as well.
The Middletons, who live in Berkshire, remain actively involved in the upbringing of all three Cambridge children. Carole Middleton is said to enjoy doing “normal granny things” with Louis, including baking and school pick-ups when needed. King Charles, meanwhile, delights in Louis’ jokes and lively energy, offering a royal yet deeply personal connection that strengthens their intergenerational bond.
As Prince Louis turns seven, the royal family celebrates not just another birthday, but the continued warmth and love that surround one of the monarchy’s most adored little royals.

American consortium GSG LOFC Limited, led by New York businessman David Gandler, has completed a takeover of English League One club Leyton Orient.The group has acquired 100 per cent of the east London club from its previous owner Eagle Investments 2017 Limited.
