Report: Mets bring back left-handed reliever Brooks Raley on 1-year deal
The New York Mets have re-signed veteran left-handed reliever Brooks Raley, according to a report in the New York Post. Raley, 36, had spent the last two seasons with the Mets. It is reportedly a one-year deal with a club option for 2026.New York initially acquired Raley from Tampa Bay ahead of the 2023 season for relief prospect Keyshawn Askew. After he was a key part of the Mets bullpen that year, the team picked up a club option on him for 2024. Slated to again serve as one of the Mets’ high-leverage relievers, Raley instead required Tommy John surgery after appearing in just eight games last season. He underwent surgery May 30. The 20-year-old Florida native is the son of Pro Football Hall of Fame pass rusher Jason Taylor, who played 15 years in the league before retiring after the 2011 season.
