Torcedores do Lyon protestam contra Textor por condição financeira do clube e citam Botafogo: ‘quem será o otário?’

Torcedores do clube francês Lyon protestaram contra a gestão de John Textor com faixas na entrada do centro de treinamento do time nesta quinta-feira, e chegaram a citar o Botafogo e o time belga Molenbeek — ambos que também fazem parte da holding Eagle Football Group, dirigida pelo empresário americano — nas reclamações. Os torcedores penduraram faixas questionando qual clube será o “otário” que arcará com as dívidas. O Clube francês pode ser rebaixado ao final da temporada para a segunda divisão do campeonato nacional, como punição por conta de uma crise financeira ainda não resolvida.

Após não atingirem as metas de venda de jogadores nesta temporada, a equipe francesa busca uma vaga na competição europeia para obter a verba da classificação para desafogar das dívidas, no entanto, com quatro jogos faltando para o término da competição, perderam o último confronto e estão a três posições da almejada classificação para a fase de grupos da Liga dos Campeões.

“Sem dinheiro no final da temporada, Molenbeek? Botafogo? Lyon? Quem será o otário?”, escreveram os integrantes da torcida.

Em outra faixa, cobraram resultados melhores pelo objetivo de se classificar na competição europeia.

“Do orgulho à vergonha, quatro partidas pelo pódio “, escreveram.

Situação financeira

Em novembro do ano passado, o Lyon sofreu um transfer ban por decisão da Direção Nacional do Controle de Gestão (DNCG). O clube membro da Eagle Football ficou proibido de contratar na janela de transferências de janeiro, e poderá até ser rebaixado ao final da temporada do Francês, se não melhorar sua atual situação financeira.

Para evitar a punição, os dirigentes do Lyon devem apresentar garantias financeiras de, pelo menos, 100 milhões de euros (R$ 646,5 milhões, na cotação atual) até o final da atual temporada 2024/2025, de acordo com o jornal L’Équipe.

Os resultados financeiros do primeiro semestre da temporada 2024/25, no entanto, mostram prejuízo líquido de 117 milhões de euros (cerca de R$ 757,3 milhões), de acordo com o relatório da holding publicado em março.

A equipe também não conseguiu realizar as vendas de jogadores estimadas na última janela. Houve uma queda de 54,4 milhões de euros (R$ 352,1 milhões) nas receitas de “atividades de negociação”, de acordo com os dados publicados.

Com isso, a classificação à Liga dos Campeões se tornou essencial para manter a equipe na primeira divisão. Somente a participação na fase inicial da liga rende 18,6 milhões de euros (R$ 120,2 milhões de reais).

O próximo confronto do Lyon será neste sábado contra o Rennes. A equipe ocupa a sexta colocação do campeonato francês, se classificando para a Uefa Conference League. No entanto, com 51 pontos, está a três do Mônaco, equipe que segura a última vaga para a competição europeia com maiores premiações, a Liga dos Campeões.
