The 2025 NFL Draft took an unexpected turn as Shedeur Sanders, the star quarterback from the Colorado Buffaloes, slid completely out of the first round. The Tennessee Titans selected Cam Ward as the expected No. 1 overall pick, while Ole Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart became the second quarterback off the board in a surprise twist. The New York Giants traded back into the first round to secure Dart, whose meteoric rise on draft boards was cemented by shifting odds and rising chatter. As Dart’s stock soared, Sanders’ unexpected slide became one of the draft’s most compelling narratives.
For Sanders, the disappointment is offset by his undeniable talent and record-setting collegiate career, which still make him a coveted prospect heading into Day 2. While his NIL earnings during college provide financial security, the slide serves as a reminder of how volatile the NFL Draft process can be, even for highly touted players.

Pětibojařka Hlaváčková je ve finále Světového poháru v Budapešti
Pro Barboru Hartmanovou, Kateřinu Váňovou a Veroniku Novotnou, která v maďarské metropoli loni vybojovala osmé místo, skončila soutěž ve čtvrtečním semifinále. Stejně v pátek dopadli Matěj Lukeš a Vojtěch Dáňa, už ve středeční kvalifikaci skončily naděje Jana Tomana a Marka Grycze.Hlaváčková se na čtvrtou příčku ve skupině B posunula v závěrečném běhu kombinovaném s laserovou střelbou, před nímž figurovala na 12. místě. Ve finále byla v Budapešti i před rokem, kdy v něm obsadila poslední 18. pozici. Novotné k účasti ve finále nepomohlo ani vítězství v šermu v „béčku“, v kterém byla nakonec dvanáctá.
