Michael Irvin hints Shedeur Sanders could become a two-time MVP if he lands at the right team, as the 22-year-old’s 2025 NFL Draft stock continues to slump after being snubbed in the First Round.
At one point, Sanders was touted as a potentially first pick overall but finds himself now 33rd at best, if the Cleveland Browns take a chance on him, as teams continue to turn their nose up at the Colorado Buffaloes‘ quarterback.
He will be the third in his class, at best, behind Cam Ward and Jaxson Dart as he finds life as a professional footballer off to a tough start before he even hits an NFL training field.
However, he remains confident in his chances of success in the sport and he’s not the only one tipping him to potentially still find joy as the Dallas Cowboys legend, Irvin, suggests his lowly position can be an advantage. But how?
“With all the credentials and things Lamar had accomplished in Louisville, why did we have so many question marks,” Irvin said, as per thesportsrush.com. “And they kept coming up during the draft that made him drop, almost out of the 1st round.
“In that this is similar. Now, we don’t even know where he is dropping. He is being unfairly spoken about. But Deion is also talking about how he could land in a perfect spot.
“That’s why I said it’s not falling. It’s landing, and if he lands in a perfect spot, like Lamar, he could be a two-time MVP.”
Why did nobody back Lamar Jackson as a quarterback?
The Baltimore Raven‘s Lamar Jackson has a very impressive resume with two MVPs to his name, three First-Team All-Pro selections, 6173 rushing yards, 20,059 passing yards and a combined total of 199 touchdowns.
Those aren’t the numbers of a QB picked 32nd overall, behind the likes of Baker Mayfield and Josh Rosen, but that’s how the cookie crumbled for Lamar, who was even looked over by the Ravens once.
He wasn’t rated as a quarterback on the basis many expected him to make a better wide receiver, although he stubbornly pushed on with his ambitions to be a quarterback; even refusing to do the 40-yard dash.
