Shilo Sanders is shaking things up just as his brother Shedeur Sanders navigates a wild NFL Draft rollercoaster. Shilo, a safety for the Colorado Buffaloes, announced on a Twitch live stream that he’d hired a new agent, breaking from the family plan of letting their dad, Deion Sanders, handle negotiations.
“So today I had to sign with an agent,” Shilo shared, grinning as he revealed the switch. The move comes amid Shedeur’s shocking draft slide-once a projected first-round pick, the quarterback fell to the fifth round, selected by the Cleveland Browns at No. 144.

Shedeur, who threw for 4,133 yards and 37 touchdowns in 2024 at Colorado, was expected to be a top-10 pick. But his stock plummeted -five quarterbacks, including Cam Ward and Jalen Milroe, went before him in the first three rounds.
“Shedeur’s draft tumble will be hotly debated in the days and even years to come,” SI.com noted, pointing to his lack of a traditional NFL agent as a possible factor. Deion, a Hall of Famer and Colorado coach, had planned to negotiate for both sons, but Shilo’s agent change signals a pivot. “Smart move by Shilo-agents know the game,” an X user tweeted, while another speculated, “Maybe Shedeur would’ve gone higher with an agent.”
Shilo breaks from family plan
Shilo, a sixth-year senior who returned to Colorado in 2024 via a medical redshirt, had a solid season with 54 tackles. His decision to hire an agent-name not disclosed-shows he’s taking his NFL future seriously, especially with the 2025 draft spotlight on his family.
“Shilo’s thinking ahead,” an X fan posted, noting his 4.4-second 40-yard dash at Colorado’s pro day, per NFL.com. Meanwhile, Shedeur’s draft fall stunned fans-his 71.8% career completion rate set an FBS record, but teams hesitated, some citing his “entitled” vibe, per NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.
The Sanders brothers have been tight-knit, transferring together from Jackson State to Colorado in 2023. Deion praised their bond, saying, “They push each other to be great,” in a 2024 USA Today interview. Shedeur’s draft reaction, shared via Shilo’s Twitch stream, showed joy-he was “finally drafted”. Shilo’s agent switch, though, is a bold step, setting him apart as he preps for his own NFL journey while Shedeur’s draft saga unfolds.
