Saros nechyběl na únorovém Turnaji čtyř zemí v Montrealu a Bostonu. Na mistrovství světa startoval v letech 2014 až 2016 a má dvě stříbra (2014 a 2016). V NHL odchytal za Nashville 408 zápasů v základní části a dalších 23 v play off. Tolvanen se představil v roce 2018 na olympijských hrách v Pchjongčchangu, kde se dostal do All Star týmu, i na světovém šampionátu v Kodani a Herningu. V NHL za Nashville a Seattle nasbíral v 345 duelech základní části 154 bodů (80+74) a ve 21 duelech play off přidal devět bodů (4+5).
Pärssinen se může na MS představit poprvé. V NHL za Nashville, Colorado a Rangers sehrál 137 zápasů s bilanci 53 bodů (20+33) a v play off nastoupil jednou. Annunen a Koppanen budou v reprezentaci debutovat. Annunen v NHL odchytal 52 zápasů za Colorado a Nashville. Koppanen za Boston a Pittsburgh odehrál 20 utkání, vstřelil jednu branku a na jednu přihrál. V této sezoně dostal příležitost v dresu Penguins v 11 duelech a premiérově skóroval. Převážně hrál na farmě Wilkes-Barre/Scranton v AHL.
MS v hokeji 2025
88. ročník mistrovství světa v hokeji je na programu v termínu od 9. do 25. května 2025. Hostit jej bude Švédsko a Dánsko, konkrétně Stockholm a Herning. Ještě před tím od 23. dubna do 4. května se koná MS do 18 let v USA.
Obránce Mikko Lehtonen z Curychu a útočník Harri Pesonen z Langnau jsou olympijskými vítězi z roku 2022 z Pekingu a mistry světa z let 2019 z Bratislavy a z Košic a o tři roky později z Tampere. Oba triumfy před třemi roky získal také útočník Hannes Björninen ze švédského Örebra. Zlaté medaile z MS z let 2019 a 2022 má útočník Juho Lammikko z Curychu. U domácího triumfu před třemi roky byl i bek Mikael Seppälä ze švédského HV 71. Bek Tony Sund z IFK Helsinky a útočník Mikael Ruohomaa z Frölundy mají stříbro z MS roku 2021 z Rigy, kde byli také Seppälä a Björninen.
Zkušenosti z NHL mají i obránci Lehtonen (Toronto, Columbus), Rissanen (Carolina), Robin Salo (Islanders) s Lassim Thomsonem (Ottawa) z Malmö a útočníci Lammikko (Florida, Vancouver), Pesonen (New Jersey) a Waltteri Merelä z Bern (Tampa Bay).
Loni na mistrovství světa v Praze a Ostravě se představili brankář Emil Larmi z Växjö, obránci Rasmus Rissanen z Linköpingu, Vili Saarijärvi z Langnau, Veli-Matti Vittasmäki z Kolína nad Rýnem a útočníci Patrik Puistola z Örebra a Ahti Oksanen z Lausanne, který v sezoně 2021/22 hrál v extralize za Hradec Králové. Forvardi Lenni Hämeenaho a Jan-Mikael Järvinen z Ässätu Pori, devatenáctiletý Jesse Kiiskinen z Hämeenlinny si připsali první starty až ve finální přípravě před letošním MS.
Finové vstoupí do turnaje v Brně ve čtvrtek proti české reprezentaci. V sobotu je čeká souboj se Švýcarskem a v neděli severské derby se Švédskem. Finové jsou v tabulce EHT druzí se ztrátou dvou bodů na Česko.
