In seiner Premieren-Saison beim FC Bayern steht Vincent Kompany (39) kurz vor dem Gewinn der Meisterschaft. In den Pokal-Wettbewerben lief es für den Belgier dagegen schlechter: Aus im Achtelfinale des DFB-Pokals und im Viertelfinale der Champions League.

War es falsch, den Belgier als Trainer zu verpflichten? Ein Pro und Contra.

Der Job kam zu früh

Beim FC Bayern mit den Alpha-Tieren Hoeneß, Rummenigge, Hainer und Eberl braucht man einen Trainer, der die Störfeuer im Griff hat, die die Bosse immer wieder (gewollt oder ungewollt) entfachen. Das können nur gestandene Persönlichkeiten wie einst Hitzfeld und Heynckes. Auch Flick gelang es. Mit ihnen feierte der Klub die größten Erfolge.

Ein Greenhorn wie Kompany mit nur vier Jahren Berufserfahrung kann das nicht leisten. Der Job kam zu früh, eine Fehleinschätzung der Führung. Da hilft es auch nicht, dass alle ihn immer wieder loben. Am Ende zählen Titel.

Seine Bilanz: raus im DFB-Pokal, raus im Viertelfinale der Königsklasse gegen Inter Mailand, wahrlich keine Über-Mannschaft. Für die Meisterschaft wird es reichen, aber nur, weil Leverkusen schwächelte. Für einen Klub mit den Ansprüchen des FCB müssen Team UND Trainer Weltklasse sein. Beide sind weit davon entfernt.

Außen- und Innenwirkung können beim FC Bayern gehörig voneinander abweichen. Wird ein Trainer medial geschützt, bedeutet das nicht immer eine Job-Garantie – oft wurde dieser im Hintergrund abgesägt. Thomas Tuchel vielleicht ausgenommen, den maßregelten die Bosse auch gerne und oft öffentlich.

Zwischen die Führung und Vincent Kompany passt dagegen kein Blatt: Der junge Trainer überzeugt die Bosse. Weil er mit seiner Arbeitseinstellung begeistert (v. a. Uli Hoeneß!), weil er im Tagesgeschäft einen Draht zur Mannschaft hat. Und weil er es schafft, in keine Fettnäpfchen zu treten. Die Spielweise ist attraktiv.

Der Vorwurf, dass sie zu offensiv sei und damit zum Ausscheiden gegen Inter geführt habe, geht am Ziel vorbei: Die Gegentreffer in Mailand waren Standards. Auf Sicht ist ein Titel bei den Bayern zu wenig – in dieser Saison und aufgrund der vielen Verletzten ist er für Kompany aber genug.
