Shedeur Sanders was one of the biggest, if not the biggest, story of the 2025 NFL Draft. A superstar quarterback projected to be one of the highest picks dropped all the way to the fifth round.
The youngest son of Deion “Coach Prime” Sanders was the 144th overall pick, as he’s heading to the Cleveland Browns.
They got juice! Deion Sanders Jr. brags about the money Shedeur Sanders got after getting drafted
The team, which has failed miserably in his search for a leader at the quarterback position, had previously selected former Oregon star Gabriel Dillon with the 94th overall pick in the draft, which means that there’s going to be a batlle of rookies for the backup position or the third string QB.
A party to celebrate his next chapter
NFL Draft analysts, sports commentators and fans alike speculated about the reasons why Shedeur Sanders fell all the way to the fifth round, including a sense of arrogance and entitlement that some believed was too much for a lot of franchises around the league.
Others believe that it was a clear message sent to Deion “Prime Time” Sanders to let him know that he’s not going to call the shots when it comes to giving his youngest son the opportunity to shine in the NFL and lead a franchise to the promised land.
Regardless, football fans are eager to see Shedeur on the field and find out if he’s truly legendary. After the drama, the former Colorado Buffaloes‘ superstar decided to spend big money on an exclusive event at Hyde Lounge in Dallas, Texas, to celebrate his next chapter. Dallas Cowboys superstars Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb were listed as attendees, according to reports, along with rapper Kodack Black.
Deion Sanders Jr. brags about Shedeur
Sports media personality Dov Kleiman posted a picture of the exclusive party where we can see Shedeur Sanders flexing over “$100K in cash” during the vent. “So many celebrities were in attendace as well. Cleveland drafted a superstar,” posted Kleiman.
Deion Sanders Jr., Shedeur‘s oldest brother, took that personal. He responded to Dov’s, post by correcting the social media user. “Let’s tell the correct story now… It was actually a gift he received… and it was a million (dollars)” Sanders Jr. stated.
As a result of being drafted on the fifth round of the 2025 NFL Draft, Shedeur Sanders lost out on over $40 million in salary. In the league, salaries for the first four seasons are predetermined based on when a player is drafted. However, the millions Shedeur lost by being the 144th overall pick could be a bless in disguise, as he can use that as a reminder that he has to prove a lot of people wrong.
