While many claim that Tom Brady influenced the decision not to pursue Shedeur Sanders in the 2025 NFL Draft, the Las Vegas Raiders organization has secured a quarterback with their second-to-last available selection. This player may not have been a high-caliber prospect projected to go in the first round, but he possesses strong qualities from a program known for producing solid NFL quarterbacks.
Cam Miller is the choice of Tom Brady and the Raiders
With the No. 215 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, the Las Vegas Raiders selected Cam Miller from North Dakota State, a player who likely received approval or carried weight from Tom Brady‘s opinion, supported by the true decision-makers, General Manager John Spytek and Head Coach Pete Carroll.

Miller comes from the North Dakota State program, where he set offensive records for passing yards (9,721 yards), a completion percentage of .694, and finished second in pass attempts (1,094) and touchdowns (81).
The quarterback won the FCS national championship in 2021 and 2024, and he led the Bison to a 45-11 record as the university’s starter. His 45 wins rank him as the third-best in FCS history.

“From every conversation that I’ve had with the GM, he has talked to me about how they want to bring in people that are winners and they’ve been accustomed and used to winning games,” Miller said. “I think that was really the X-factor in their choice to take me in the draft.”
Cam Miller joins other North Dakota State names like Carson Wentz, Trey Lance, and Easton Stick in recent years. He will be the player competing for the position with Geno Smith, a veteran brought in to try to improve the 4-13 record of 2024, and is poised to be the future of the franchise that has Tom Brady as a minority investor.
