Vaibhav Suryavanshi has become the youngest player to hit a hundred in cricket’s Indian Premier League (IPL) — aged just 14.
The left-hand batter clubbed Rashid Khan for six — one of 11 maximums in his record-breaking innings — to reach the milestone off just 35 balls.
Only West Indian great Chris Gayle (30 deliveries) has scored a faster century in the history of India’s premier domestic cricket competition.

Suryavanshi’s ton was also the fastest by any Indian player in IPL history.
The IPL is played over cricket’s Twenty20 format and consists of both teams playing one innings each of 120 balls.

Suryavanshi had already made history as the youngest player to earn an IPL contract when he was signed by the Rajasthan Royals for INR 1.1 crore ($129,000) aged 13.
He made his debut for the Royals earlier this season and marked it by hitting a six off the first ball he faced.
His innings Monday included taking former India international bowler Ishant Sharma for 28 runs off one of his overs as he reached his 50 off just 17 balls.
His 101 score also comprised seven fours before he was eventually dismissed bowled by Prasidh Krishna.
Suryavanshi has represented India at Under-19 level and hit a 58-ball century on his debut for his country in September 2024.
The Rajasthan Royals sit ninth in the IPL table, with two wins from their nine matches so far.
