O meio-campista Paul Pogba pode retornar aos gramados após terminar sua suspensão por doping. Segundo o jornal The Washington Post, o jogador francês negocia com o DC United, dos Estados Unidos — atual 13º colocado da conferência Leste — para voltar a jogar após mais de um ano afastado — sua última partida foi em setembro de 2023.
Ainda conforme o portal, o DC United detém os direitos de descoberta de Pogba na MLS, o que impede que outras equipes da liga negociem com ele. Além disso, as partes trocaram propostas de contrato, mas ainda sem definição. Acredita-se que o meia deve decidir seu futuro nas próximas semanas, já que ele também atrai interesse de times da Europa e do Oriente Médio.
Campeão do mundo pela seleção da França em 2018, Pogba foi suspenso por quatro anos por ter testado positivo para metabólitos não endógenos de testosterona (DHEA) após o jogo entre Juventus e Udinese em 20 de agosto de 2023.
No entanto, o Tribunal Arbitral do Esporte (TAS) reduziu a suspensão para 18 meses ao considerar que a “ingestão” da substância não foi “intencional”, mas sim proveniente um suplemento alimentar prescrito por um médico que o jogador consultou na Flórida.
Pogba tinha contrato com a Juventus até 2026, mas ambas as partes chegaram a um acordo para romper o vínculo em novembro do ano passado.
