Stephanie White’s secret strategy that could make Caitlin Clark & the Fever unstoppable

Stephanie White has faced scrutiny from analysts and fans, but she remains unfazed. The Indiana Fever’s head coach is crystal clear about her vision for Caitlin Clark and the rest of the team in the 2025 WNBA season. According to a well-known analyst, if the team executes White’s strategy, they could become unstoppable.

When introduced as the Fever’s head coach last October, White laid out her game plan for the upcoming season. “I think our players naturally play fast. When you look at what Indiana did a year ago, they were among the top teams in the league in pace and offense,” she explained.

White’s philosophy is built on an offensive-heavy approach centered around her star trio: Clark, Aliyah Boston, and Kelsey Mitchell. “We want to make sure we have more options to share the ball, making it more difficult to guard our big three,” she emphasized. Rachel DeMita, an analyst and podcast host, believes this strategy puts the Fever on track for a playoff run.

White’s plan in action

DeMita has been one of White’s biggest supporters, frequently praising her game plan for Indiana. Analyzing footage from the team’s first preseason workouts on her podcast The Courtside Club, she confidently stated, “The Fever is going to be absolutely fine.”

She also praised the team’s movement-even in practice. “We’ve already seen in the first few minutes of the scrimmage how fast they are moving the ball. They’re going upo and down the court,” she observed.

Additionally, DeMita highlighted how White’s strategy has been embraced by the entire roster. “That is one thing you’ve heard from every single player on this Indiana Fever team: they want to play fast. Even the second unit is playing with a really quick pace,” she noted.

Championship aspirations

The Fever is entering the 2025 WNBA season with one clear goal: a championship. With a roster stacked with talent and led by Clark, Boston, Mitchell, and veteran DeWanna Bonner, the team is already making waves in its early practices.

Now entering her third professional season, Boston highlighted her growing chemistry with Clark. “Now, we know exactly how we like to play,” she stated-a statement that feels like a warning to the rest of the league.

PSG’s star winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia making case as most impactful January signing in soccer history

Getty Images The common refrain around the reconstituted Paris Saint-Germain of this season is that this is a club light on superstar attacking talent. If Ousmane Dembele's continued presence already brought questions over such an assessment, the arrival of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia belies that cozy narrative. The Georgian may lack the name recognition of past marquee additions, but in pure quality terms, he is eminently worthy of following in the Neymar, Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe lineage. He may prove to have been even more significant than those players, certainly that will be the case if he brings them their much-coveted Champions League trophy. That seems eminently plausible after Tuesday's 1-0 win at Arsenal, and if PSG do finally achieve their raison d'être, there will be a compelling case to be made for Kvaratskhelia being the most immediately impactful January signing in […]

Caitlin Clark says ‘really, really hungry’ Fever have championship expectations after busy offseason

During the Indiana Fever's media day on Wednesday, 2024 WNBA Rookie of the Year Caitlin Clark did not mince words when asked about the team's expectations this season. Boasting a new coach and revamped roster, the Fever only have one goal in mind.  "Yeah, absolutely," Clark said, when asked if the team has been "explicit" about wanting to win a title in 2025. When a reporter followed up, asking what success would look like this season, Clark doubled down: "a championship." Clark's arrival last season put the Fever back on the map. After years of bizarre draft decisions and frequent last-place finishes, they went 20-20, made the playoffs for the first time since 2016 and were transformed into one of the most well-known franchises in all of sports, let alone the WNBA.  Instead of slow-playing their rebuild, the organization went all-in this […]
