O Botafogo tem, há cerca de um mês, um acordo apalavrado com Savarino, de 28 anos, para renovar o contrato do camisa 10 até junho de 2028 — o vínculo atual vai até dezembro de 2026. No entanto, por algumas questões consideradas burocráticas, as partes ainda não assinaram o acordo.
Assim que Savarino voltou da última data-Fifa com a seleção venezuelana, o Botafogo apresentou ao atleta a proposta em definitivo para estender o vínculo por mais um ano e meio — antes disso, as conversas entre clube e jogador já rolavam há pelo menos um mês. O camisa 10, que não possui empresário, sinalizou positivamente e os termos foram enviados para o advogado do venezuelano. É nessa fase que está o entrave para que a negociação tenha um final feliz.
Nas últimas semanas, foram feitos alguns pedidos de mudanças no contrato enviado pelo Botafogo, como porcentagem de juros, taxa de câmbio e valor de multa rescisória. O clube tenta chegar num denominador comum com o estafe jurídico de Savarino para, aí sim, sacramentar o negócio.
Possibilidade de ida à Europa
Apesar da demora, a diretoria do Botafogo está tranquila em relação à situação do atleta, que, por sua vez, também indicou para pessoas próximas o desejo de renovar seu contrato com o alvinegro.
Ainda assim, a extensão do contrato de Savarino com o Botafogo não seria garantia de que o jogador cumpriria o novo contrato até a data final. Há a possibilidade, inclusive, do venezuelano deixar a equipe na janela de transferências após o Mundial de Clubes.
Isto é porque, nos bastidores, Savarino não esconde o sonho de atuar no futebol europeu, o que é de conhecimento de John Textor e seus pares. Por outro lado, o venezuelano também fala sobre a possibilidade de continuar no Botafogo. Tudo dependerá da avaliação do próprio jogador e da diretoria alvinegra, caso surjam propostas concretas.
Além de proporcionar uma valorização salarial para Savarino, a renovação contratual deixaria a multa rescisória do venezuelano na casa dos 20 milhões de dólares (aproximadamente R$ 112,4 milhões).
Em janeiro de 2024, o venezuelano chegou ao Botafogo vindo do Real Salt Lake, dos Estados Unidos, por 2,7 milhões de dólares (R$ 13,2 milhões, na cotação da época). Ao final do ano, Savarino acabou consagrado como um dos melhores e mais decisivos jogadores da equipe na temporada mágica que terminou com os títulos da Libertadores e do Campeonato Brasileiro.
