Nas últimas temporadas, o Corinthians tem amplo domínio nos campeonatos nacionais e continentais no Futebol Feminino da América do Sul. Um dos torneios que as Brabas tem dominado, é a Copa Libertadores Feminina. O Timão é o atual bi-campeão do torneio.
Com cinco títulos da Libertadores conquistados em sua história, o Corinthians já se tornou o maior campeão isolado da história do torneio, e participa mais uma vez em 2025.
No titulo de 2024, o Corinthians fez a final contra o Santa Fé, da Colômbia, e venceu por 2 a 0 na final única, no Estádio Defensores del Chaco, no Paraguai. Agora, meses após o título, alguns problemas vieram à tona.
Corinthians atrasou pagamentos para jogadoras
Segundo informações do portal Fut das Minas e também do GE, o Corinthians teria atrasado pagamentos relacionados à premiação do torneio continental. O atraso gerou incomodo por parte de jogadoras do elenco corintiano.
Uma jogadora que não se identificou, falou com o portal GE e afirmou que as justificativas do Corinthians são sempre as mesmas: “Não deveria nem ter esse atraso, ganhamos o prêmio em outubro. A justificativa é sempre a mesma, “não tem dinheiro” ou “não tem caixa”, assim vai jogando pra frente.” afirmou a jogadora que não se identificou.
O Corinthians teria chegado a buscar um acordo com as jogadoras, parcelando a premiação em 6 vezes, porém, apenas duas parcelas foram pagas até o atual momento. O valor repassado para as jogadoras seria um total de 175 mil reais para cada uma. Segundo informações do portal GE, a saída de algumas jogadoras tem envolvimento com o atraso de pagamentos. Nas últimas semanas, a torcida do Corinthians protestou contra a forma que Augusto Melo vem gerenciando o setor feminino do clube, veja mais informações aqui.

O Corinthians se pronunciou afirmando que o pagamento das premiações é uma das prioridades da diretoria, veja: “Até o momento, o clube efetuou integralmente os pagamentos referentes aos meses de fevereiro e março. O compromisso relativo à parcela de abril será honrado tão logo haja disponibilidade de fluxo de caixa, o que está sendo tratado com a máxima prioridade pela Diretoria.”
