Hrdina Vladař. V polovině zápasu zamkl svoji bránu a neotevřel ji ani při nájezdech

Na křídle druhé formace, které šéfoval nedávno vytrejdovaný Brock Nelson (z New York Islanders). Přitom domácí kráčeli za vítězstvím, když ještě v polovině třetí části vedli 2:0. Český gólman však od 28. minuty zavřel svou bránu a jeho spoluhráči během půlminuty manko smazali. V nájezdech už si na Vladaře nikdo nepřišel. Nakonec pochytal dvacet osm střel s úspěšností 93,33 procenta.Ondřej Palát nechyběl na ledové ploše při výhře New Jersey nad Minnesotou v poměru 3:2. A také Devils se radovali až po nájezdech. Také Palátův tým ztratil vedení v závěrečném dějství.
