Casagrande prevê um desfecho positivo caso Abel Ferreira, de fato, seja procurado pela CBF. Embora o técnico esteja focado no Palmeiras, a oportunidade de assumir o comando da seleção brasileira, segundo o ex-jogador, é irrecusável. Por conta disso, o eventual acerto dependeria apenas da liberação de Leila Pereira.
“Ele deixou a letra que tem o contrato e não é uma coisa simples. Para mim, é o seguinte: ‘Eu vou, vai depender só de conversar com a Leila’. Se a seleção quiser mesmo o Abel, vai ligar para a Leila e vai negociar. O Abel vai querer ir.”, disse Casão, no UOL News Esporte.
“A chegada dele na seleção brasileira para o ego dele seria uma coisa maravilhosa. Eu acho que ele toparia.”, acrescentou.
Casagrande indica prestígio na Europa
Apesar do trabalho histórico dirigindo o Palmeiras, Abel Ferreira nunca recebeu ofertas de gigantes da Europa. Neste cenário, com a seleção brasileira no currículo, Casagrande não tem dúvidas que, após o fim do ciclo em questão, o português será um dos técnicos mais cobiçados entre os clubes do Velho Continente.
“O Palmeiras é o maior trabalho da carreira dele. Se ele for o treinador da seleção, ele vai dar uma volta por cima na Europa toda como treinador. Para ele voltar depois para a Europa, é seleção de Portugal, Liverpool, Manchester United, Milan, Bayern de Munique…”
“O trabalho maravilhoso no Palmeiras ainda não serviu para um grande time da Europa vir contratá-lo. Ele recebeu propostas do Catar, mas não recebeu de um grande time da Europa, o que eu acho um absurdo.”, prosseguiu.
