Quase seis meses depois, Filipe Luís volta a comandar o Flamengo na Copa do Brasil — competição que marcou seu primeiro título como técnico profissional. Atual campeão, o rubro-negro estreia na terceira fase do torneio nesta quinta-feira, contra o Botafogo-PB, às 20h, no Estádio Castelão, em São Luís, no Maranhão. Mandante da partida, o clube paraibano negociou o palco do jogo. A expectativa é de um bom público, com forte presença de torcedores do Fla. Na última parcial, divulgada dois dias atrás, mais de 29 mil ingressos já haviam sido vendidos. Mas os rubro-negros maranhenses que aguardam ansiosamente para, enfim, assistir ao time do coração de perto não poderão vê-lo com força máxima em campo.
Desde o início do ano, a diretoria do clube coloca a Copa do Brasil em um nível abaixo do Campeonato Brasileiro, da Libertadores e do Mundial de Clubes na lista de prioridades. Essa decisão, somada à sequência de partidas com pouco tempo de descanso — serão dez ao longo do mês de maio —, fez com que o treinador optasse por levar uma equipe alternativa para o duelo.
A lista de jogadores poupados é grande: o goleiro Rossi; o lateral-esquerdo Alex Sandro; os meias Pulgar, De La Cruz e Arrascaeta; e o atacante Pedro sequer viajaram com o restante da delegação. A ideia é que os atletas estejam 100% fisicamente para os próximos desafios, considerados mais complicados.
Com parte dos considerados titulares ausentes, o espaço fica aberto para que outros nomes mostrem serviço a Filipe Luís. A maior expectativa recai sobre Matheus Gonçalves. Revelado na base, o garoto de 19 anos é um dos “queridinhos” da torcida, que já vem pedindo mais minutos do jovem em campo há algum tempo. Ele demonstrou qualidade nas oportunidades que recebeu durante o Campeonato Carioca. Desde então, porém, foi utilizado apenas duas vezes, nos minutos finais dos jogos contra o Inter, em março, e contra o Corinthians, no último domingo.
— A melhor versão do Matheus é aberto na ponta direita. É um jogador de drible, desequilíbrio, criativo e que consegue se resolver bem em espaços curtos e pressionado. Que ele pode jogar em outras, não tenha dúvidas. Na final do Mundial (sub-20), o botei por dentro, jogou com o Tite na ponta esquerda, jogou comigo na meia esquerda no lugar do Arrascaeta na pré-temporada. Senti que ele merecia esses minutos, vem treinando muito bem e quer jogar. Gosto de jogador que se incomoda quando fica fora e trabalha para poder ter minutos.
Já Wallace Yan, outro cria da base que caiu nas graças da torcida, sequer foi relacionado. O jovem de 20 anos — que é, inclusive, o terceiro artilheiro da equipe, ao lado de Pedro e Luiz Araújo, com quatro gols marcados — tem ficado fora das partidas por opção da comissão técnica. Seu último jogo foi contra o Deportivo Táchira, pela Libertadores, no início de abril. Desde então, vem atuando apenas pelo sub-20.
