Craque Neto enalteceu a trajetória de Dorival Júnior como técnico no futebol brasileiro, mas indicou o que faltou para o experiente técnico ser ainda maior.

“Se tornou um grande treinador, de ‘top’. Talvez, no final da carreira a única coisa que ele vai (lamentar) foi a seleção brasileira, pois ele poderia disputar uma Copa do Mundo”, refletiu o apresentador, no programa “Os Donos da Bola”.

Dorival teve passagem de um ano no comando da seleção. Após um bom começo, com vitória e empate contra Inglaterra e Espanha, ele caiu de rendimento e foi demitido semanas atrás por conta de uma sequência negativa de resultados, incluindo o 4 a 1 sofrido contra a Argentina.

Depois de um longo período de negociação, Dorival aceitou a proposta do Timão e estreou nesta quarta-feira (30), em jogo contra o Novorizontino na Copa do Brasil.

Com um time praticamente todo reserva, o clube de Itaquera venceu fora de casa por 1 a 0 e conquistou um importante resultado na Copa do Brasil.

Agora, o próximo desafio é o Internacional de Roger Machado, na Neo Química Arena, no sábado (3), às 18h30 (de Brasília). O Corinthians vem de derrota por 4 a 0 diante o Flamengo de Filipe Luís na competição e precisa dar a volta por cima para não se aproximar da zona de rebaixamento.

Dorival Júnior tem uma carreira de sucesso

Ao assumir o Alvinegro da capital, Dorival concretiza o que poucos treinadores conseguiram na história do futebol: trabalhar nos quatro grandes clubes do estado de São Paulo.

No Santos, ele foi campeão da Copa do Brasil e Paulistão em 2010 e comandou uma equipe histórica com Neymar, Paulo Henrique Ganso e outros. O técnico retornou ao clube da baixada em 2015 e foi vice-campeão da Copa do Brasil, além do título Paulista em 2016.

No SPFC, o comandante também fez história ao conquistar a inédita Copa do Brasil na história do time do MorumBIS, no ano de 2023. Meses depois, no começo de 2024, ele aceitou proposta da seleção brasileira e interrompeu o trabalho no Tricolor.
