Especialista na função de goleiro, Emerson Leão foi dono de uma carreira brilhante, sobretudo vestindo a camisa da seleção brasileira. Conhecedor como poucos, ele contou nesta semana que tinha como referência Rodolfo Rodríguez.
Uruguaio, Rodolfo Rodríguez é um dos grandes arqueiros que esteve em solo brasileiro. Respeitado, vestiu por aqui a camisa do Santos e também do Bahia.
“Outro dia encontrei com o Rodolfo Rodríguez e disse a ele: ‘Rodolfo, eu tinha você como referência de competição. Sabia que eu era um bom goleiro, mas sabia que você também era. Eu competia à distância’. Para mim, ele foi o melhor goleiro estrangeiro que vi jogar no meu país”, disse Leão, em entrvista para o podcast ‘Ferrô TV’.
“O Cejas jogou bem também, mas entendo que o Rodolfo foi melhor. A gente tinha admiração por estes estrangeiros”, completou.
Pelo Peixe, Rodriguez conquistou o título do Campeonato Paulista de 1984. Na década de 90, venceu por duas vezes o estadual baiano.
Leão reprova técnico estrangeiro na seleção brasileira
Dono de fortes posicionamentos, Emerson Leão deixou claro ser contrário à ideia de contratar um treinador gringo para comandar a seleção brasileira. Em contato recente com o ge.com, ele disse não ser necessário ‘apelar’ para um profissional de fora para corrigir os problemas do time canarinho.
“Não concordo com o técnico estrangeiro na seleção brasileira. Para mim, isso é o fim, a falência. Essa é a minha opinião”, destacou o ex-goleiro, em declaração ao ge.
Desde a saída de Tite, passaram nomes como Ramón Menezes, Fernando Diniz e, por último, Dorival Júnior. Hoje, a preferência do presidente da CBF, Ednaldo Rodrigues, é por Carlo Ancelotti, do Real Madrid.
Abel Ferreira?
Com Ancelotti distante, outros nomes são analisados pela Confederação Brasileira de Futebol. Além de Jorge Jesus, Abel Ferreira é a mais forte alternativa nos bastidores. Segundo o jornalista Lauro Jardim, há negociações avançadas entre as partes.
A princípio, o técnico Abel Ferreira comandaria o Brasil nas duas próximas rodadas das Eliminatórias e faria sua despedida do Palmeiras após o Super Mundial de Clubes.
