Things got out of hand last night after an electrifying 119-118 overtime win. The Pacers celebrated euphorically… but tension quickly took over the atmosphere. In the midst of the post-game chaos, Haliburton‘s father, John, stormed onto the court and engaged in an intense and heated confrontation with Giannis Antetokounmpo, further igniting a night that was already on the verge of exploding after an emotional game.
John waved a towel with his son’s picture on it, Tyrese‘s father approached Giannis, and the player didn’t take it too seriously, but that was just the beginning.

Antetokounmpo wasn’t going to let John get away with it and approached him and confronted him, where they exchanged words in a very tense argument.
Authorities and staff had to step in to prevent things from getting physical, a rather embarrassing moment, as you would expect, since the father should not have been on the court in the first place, and criticism was swift.
“I sincerely apologize to Giannis, the Milwaukee Bucks and the Pacers organization for my actions after tonight’s game. It did not reflect well on our sport or my son, and I will not make this mistake again,” John said on social media, expressing remorse for what happened.
John, Haliburton’s father, receives a huge punishment from the Pacers
He didn’t get away with it. Father Tyrese has been banned from all Indiana games, home and away.
“After discussions with Tyrese Haliburton’s father, John Haliburton, and the Indiana Pacers front office, John Haliburton will not be attending any of the team’s home or away games for the foreseeable future,” said a source close to ESPN.
“My father got caught up in the moment and obviously his actions were out of line. I apologized to Giannis and he apologized to Giannis. It’s unfortunate what happened, and there’s no place for it,” Haliburton said on The Pat McAfee Show.
The reality is that Giannis didn’t lose his head and act in bad faith with an attempted hit; the father should be happy that the athlete reacted in bad faith. For his part, John has been making the media rounds and making his remorse very clear.
