„Ich war 17 Jahre alt und …“ – Kompany verrät Bayern-Geheimnis!

Bayern-Trainer Vincent Kompany (39) hat anlässlich der Einweihung des Franz-Beckenbauer-Platzes an der Münchner Allianz Arena eine persönliche Anekdote mit dem verstorbenen Fußball-„Kaiser“ († 78) verraten.

Kompany: „Vielleicht eine gute Geschichte für euch. Ich war 17 Jahre alt und wir haben damals mit Anderlecht gegen Bayern in der Champions League gespielt.“ Die Partien in der Gruppenphase endeten 1:1 im September 2003 und im Dezember mit einem 1:0-Sieg der Bayern. Der junge Kompany spielte beide Male 90 Minuten durch.

Der Belgier weiter: „Es gab die Gerüchte – und es gibt bei Bayern manchmal Gerüchte, wie Sie wissen – dass damals Franz Beckenbauer sehr interessiert war an meinem Profil und deswegen auch die Möglichkeit da war, dass ich als Spieler zu Bayern komme.“

Für Kompany eine ganz besondere Geschichte!

Der heutige Bayern-Coach: „Ich weiß noch ganz genau: Das erste, was ich im Kopf hatte, war nicht, dass ich zu Bayern München wechseln könnte, sondern, dass ich gerne zu Franz Beckenbauer möchte.“

Kompany wollte mit 17 zu Bayern – wegen Kaiser Franz, der damals Präsident und Aufsichtsratsvorsitzender war!

Aber der Trainer räumte auch ein: „Das Angebot ist damals nie gekommen, aber es gab es auf jeden Fall schon in meinem Kopf. So wichtig war Franz Beckenbauer für mich! Ich wollte irgendwie in die Nähe von ihm kommen, damit er mir bei meiner Karriere helfen könnte.“

Zum Bayern-Wechsel kam es nicht. Kompany ging 2006 für 10,5 Mio. Euro zum HSV (29 Bundesliga-Spiele) – wie Beckenbauer für zwei Jahre (1980 bis 1982). Dann wechselte der Belgier 2008 zu Manchester City, wurde dort viermal englischer Meister und Kapitän.

Am Montag weiht Bayern den „Franz-Beckenbauer-Platz“ an der Allianz Arena ein, die offizielle Adresse des Stadions ist dann Franz-Beckenbauer-Platz 5. Bayern-Sportdirektor Christoph Freund (47): „Franz Beckenbauer war als Sportler und Mensch so herausragend für den FC Bayern München, aber auch für ganz Fußball-Deutschland. Jeder kennt Franz Beckenbauer. Deshalb ist das etwas ganz Spezielles und ich finde es sehr, sehr schön, dass es so umbenannt wird.“
