There’s only one game in the NHL playoffs on Friday, but it could be a good one. The St. Louis Blues host the Winnipeg Jets in Game 6 of a series that the home team has won every game of. Can the Blues give us a Game 7 or will Winnipeg book a place in the next round?

How to watch Winnipeg Jets at St. Louis Blues

  • Venue: Enterprise Center — St. Louis
  • Time: 8 p.m. ET Friday
  • TV: TNT/truTV (U.S. national), Sportsnet (Canada), FDSN (St. Louis market)

Jets at Blues Game 6

Jets lead series 3-2

Series odds: Jets -500, Blues +375

The Jets are back in the lead after a 5-3 Game 5 win at home, but will be without star forward Mark Scheifele in St. Louis as they try to clinch their spot in the second round.

Scheifele took hard hits from Brayden Schenn and Radek Faksa in the first period of Game 5 and did not return for the rest for the second or third. He did not join the team to St. Louis.

Jets coach Scott Arniel and Blues coach Jim Montgomery exchanged a war of words about the hits following Wednesday’s game.

“Let’s make it clear: No. 55 (Scheifele) got hurt from the Faksa hit,” Montgomery said. “He played six minutes after the Schenn hit. He didn’t come back after he got rocked by Faksa.”

To which Arniel responded: “I didn’t know Monty got his medical degree, trying to say how our player got hurt. He’s way off base,” said Arniel.

The Jets’ depth players stepped up in Scheifele’s absence, and likely Vezina Trophy winner Connor Hellebuyck got a much-needed win after two dismal performances.

Can the Blues bounce back at home and force Game 7? Jeremy Rutherford says it wouldn’t be a surprise, given the way the Blues’ season turned out, but they have some cleaning up to do first.

Talking point: Ait-Nouri escapes red card In a contest that featured no yellow cards, Rayan Ait-Nouri did catch Bernardo Silva with his studs when attempting a stepover in the second half. It was checked by VAR but the Wolves wing-back was not sent off. "I don't like seeing players sent off, but he's a very lucky boy there,” said Jamie Carragher on co-commentary for Sky Sports. "He's trying to do the skill and once his foot's rolled, it has to go somewhere. I'm not saying he's deliberately trying to do it to his shin, but maybe he sees him coming and he's trying to protect himself."
