Edmundo, antes do Vasco encarar o Palmeiras, fez questão de exaltar o patamar da equipe de Abel Ferreira. Após o Cruz-Maltino bater de frente com o Flamengo no empate por 0 a 0, houve uma sinalização de que o clube carioca tem pela frente o rival mais forte do primeiro turno do Brasileirão. Neste cenário, apenas o Rubro-Negro é capaz de evitar outro título nacional do time alviverde.
“Mesmo se não tiver um grande desempenho, a vitória é meio que obrigação. A declaração (do Felipe sobre Capasso) foi péssima quando se está às vésperas do jogo mais difícil do primeiro turno com o adversário mais forte.”, disse Edmundo, em live no canal Mundo Ed, no YouTube.
“Eu entendo que o Campeonato Brasileiro vai ser ganho pelo Palmeiras ou Flamengo.”, acrescentou.
Vasco pode ganhar do Palmeiras?
Em Brasília, o Vasco tem uma missão difícil para se reabilitar no Campeonato Brasileiro. Apesar disso, Edmundo acredita que o Palmeiras pode ser vencido, mas o resultado positivo depende de uma apresentação praticamente perfeita.
“O Vasco é gigantesco. O futebol é um dos poucos esportes que permite o time inferior ganhar do time melhor. Foi assim quando o Bahia, dentro do Allianz Parque, ganhou do Palmeiras. O Vasco tem time para ganhar do Palmeiras. O Abel deve ter reclamado bastante e vai fazer com que os jogadores corram bastante.”, externou.

Edmundo exalta o Bahia
Desbancando o Palmeiras, em pleno Allianz Parque, o Bahia é visto como um exemplo a ser seguido pelo Vasco dentro e fora de campo. Contando com um projeto sólido do Grupo City, o time de Rogério Ceni mostrou que pode lutar na parte de cima da tabela do Brasileirão em 2025.
“O Palmeiras perdeu no último fim de semana contra um Bahia valente e muito bem estruturado. É uma SAF que tem dado muito certo. Tem cautela e os pés no chão. Está construindo, devagarinho, uma história no futebol e tem um técnico longevo. Se defendeu bem e acabou sendo premiado com a vitória.”, elogiou.
