A cidade de Santiago de Cali, localizada no sudoeste da Colômbia, se despede de uma importante figura no noticiário esportivo local. O jornalista Juan Antonio Bernardi, de 53 anos, foi encontrado morto em um parque na região sul da cidade, em circunstâncias que ainda precisam ser esclarecidas pelas autoridades locais.
Segundo o jornal colombiano El Tiempo, Juan Antonio saiu de casa na quinta-feira (1º) de manhã e não voltou mais. Seus familiares não tiveram notícias até que ele fosse encontrado morto, no dia seguinte. Figura marcante no esporte, em especial no Deportivo Cali, de quem era torcedor e sócio, o jornalista foi lembrado por seu clube de coração.
Em nota, o clube informou que “lamenta profundamente o falecimento de Juan Antonio Bernardi, jornalista local prestigiado. Enviamos uma mensagem de solidariedade neste difícil momento para sua família, amigos e conhecidos”.
Apesar de seu trabalho ter sido em boa parte norteado pelo clube do Vale do Cauca, o jornalista também teve passagens por veículos como o programa de rádio Supercombo del Deporte. Na televisão, seu último trabalho foi no programa de debates “Pena Máxima”, que participou ao lado de Óscar Rentería e César Polanía.Nas redes sociais, Óscar desabafou sobre a morte do colega e amigo.
“Conheci Juan Antonio Bernardi há muitos anos. Ele foi meu parceiro no rádio e na televisão. Torcedor apaixonado pelo Cali, como disseminador de polêmicas nunca perdoou nada nem ninguém. Sua morte entristece minha alma. Isso me dói, porque ele era e sempre será meu amigo. Juan, você levou a melhor, mas não se preocupe, porque a qualquer momento voltaremos a debater com o mesmo sucesso de sempre. Eu não te amei. Eu te amo muito. Descanse em paz”, publicou.
