Případné vítězství by Plzni přihrálo skvostnou pozici v boji o konečnou druhou příčku tabulky. Západočeši mají i nadále vše ve svých rukou, s největší pravděpodobností se o stříbrný flek utkají příští neděli doma s Baníkem. Přímo. Což Koubek a spol. moc dobře tuší. Proto prohra na Slavii bolí ještě více.
Co po takovém zápase trenér cítí?
Mrzutost. Nechali jsme si vyrazit body z rukou. Dopustili jsme se v defenzivě velmi závažných chyb, které jsou za mě nepochopitelné. Obzvlášť za stavu, kdy máme mít zápas plně pod kontrolou. Podlehli jsme fyzickému tlaku, agresivitě Slavie. Gólům se dalo čelit i z taktického hlediska. Třeba u branky na 2:3 vystoupí dva stopeři na jediného soupeře. Za to se na mužstvo zlobím.

Budete i chválit? Ocitli jste se blizoučko tomu, abyste jako první ligový tým na Slavii alespoň bodovali.
V ofenzivě jsme si toho vytvořili hodně, tam je pochvala zasloužená. Ale bránění nám dělalo problémy. Každý vysoký balon představoval nebezpečí, ve vzduchu jsme byli špatní. Jsme menší mužstvo a Slavia toho využila.

Nezaujatého diváka ale utkání muselo bavit. Označil byste ho za reklamu na fotbal?
Určitě. Zápas byl atraktivní, opravdu reklama. Žádný soupeř na Slavii nedokázal realizovat tolik útočných akcí. Většinou tu všichni hrají v bloku. My chceme hrát dopředu, pak máte někdy otevřená vrátka. Ale bylo vidět, že jsme schopni Slavii dostávat do úzkých.
Neměl byste coby trenér radši na očích klidnější zápas?
Ne, tomuto se nebráním. Viděl jsem, že máme zajímavé možnosti a útočnou sílu. Slavia brání osobně. Když se z toho klinče dostanete a uspějete v náběhu, případně v souboji jeden proti jednomu, dá se na ni vyzrát.

Jak jste viděl výkony středních záložníků? Měla tam Slavia navrch?
Takhle to nevnímám. V systému 3-4-3, který oba týmy praktikují, neustále dochází k soubojům dva na dva. Kluci měli těžké protivníky. Moses je velmi dobrý hráč, rafan. A vedle něj Zafeiris. Propad z naší strany tam nevidím. Spíše šlo o strategii. Útočnou fázi jsme měli postavenou na balonech za obranu, protože máme velmi dobré útočníky. Přišlo nám to lepší, než dlouze držet míč ve středu pole pod neustálým tlakem Slavie.
Prohra logicky ztížila boj o druhé místo, ač máte stále vše ve vlastních rukou.
Ano, je to komplikaci. Ztratili jsme tři body, které byly blízko. I když žádný zápas není vyhraný, ani když vedete pět minut před koncem o dvě branky. Minimálně bod jsme si měli odvézt. Očekávám, že se k nám bodově přiblíží Baník a rozhodovat se bude příští týden v Plzni.
