Sovereignty won in a rainy 151st Kentucky Derby, coming around the outside to edge out the race favorite, Journalism.
Journalism held on for second, while Baeza rounded out the top three. Sovereignty had 7-1 odds entering Saturday’s race. Journalism was a 4-to-1 favorite and Baeza opened at 17-1 and closed to 13-1 before the race.

On Saturday afternoon, a 19-horse field took to a track with sloppy conditions. It was 58 degrees and cloudy, and a downpour of rain made for murky conditions and a completely muddy 1 ¼-mile course. There were two scratches, but the remaining 19 jockeys contested for a $3.1 million prize.
A race favorite hasn’t won the Derby since 2018, when Justify took the crown. Last year’s victor, Mystik Dan, held 18-1 odds heading into the race. In 2023, a 15-1 longshot, Mage, came out on top.

Ten podle původních informací od národního týmu měl jít na led individuálně ve čtvrtek odpoledne bezprostředně po svém příjezdu do Dánska (reprezentace ve čtvrtek trénuje už dopoledne).Generální manažer nároďáku Jiří Šlégr však ve středu dopoledne pro Sport.cz uvedl, že Nečas dnes ještě půjde na led v Coloradu a k týmu se připojí až ve čtvrtek odpoledne či večer. Smolařem úterního večera se stal Tomáš Hertl. Už ve druhé minutě mu rozpárala tvář hokejka Ryana Nugenta-Hopkinse, která českému útočníkovi nebezpečně zajela pod plexisklo na přilbě. Forvard Oilers inkasoval za nebezpečný zákrok trest na 2+2 minuty.
