Die Chemnitz Niners und die Rostock Seawolves spielen beide eine starke Saison, kämpfen im direkten Duell um die Play-offs in der BBL. Am Sonntag liefern sich der Fünfte Chemnitz und der Sechste Rostock einen großen Kampf – und tun ihren Fans einen echten Nerven-Krimi an. Der geht in der Verlängerung mit 108:102 an die Niners.

Zwei wilde Szenen im zweiten Viertel drehen das Spiel in Richtung Chemnitz.
Erst schenkt Rostock den Ball her, als sie bei 30:23 die Chance haben, davonzuziehen. Elias Baggette kriegt beim Einwurf den Ball nicht innerhalb der vorgegebenen fünf Sekunden los, ein absolut ungewöhnlicher Fehler. Der Ball geht an Chemnitz, Garrett verkürzt per Dreier auf 26:30.
Dann brennt es plötzlich richtig im Duell zweier Top-Stars der Easycredit BBL: Rostocks MVP-Kandidat Bryce Hamilton hält Niners-Star Kevin Yebo mit allem, was er hat, davon ab, zum Korb zu gehen. Der Chemnitz-Rückkehrer (kam vom FC Bayern zurück) versucht, sich loszureißen, beide gehen in den Clinch, ALLE anderen Spieler kommen dazu, streiten im Rudel.

Kevin Yebo am Mikro bei WELT TV und Dyn: „Für mich wirkt es schon sehr intensiv, beide Teams sind ready, alles zu geben. Wir sind auch zwei Teams, die offensiv sehr stark sind.“
Super: Wie so oft in den letzten Wochen werden die TV-Zuschauer bei Dyn und WELT TV sehr transparent in der Entscheidungsfindung mitgenommen. Die Schiedsrichter Zulfikar Oruzgani und Armin Mutapcic schauen sich die Szenen im Video an, lösen so für sich und die Fans die unübersichtlichen Vorgänge auf.
Oruzgani erklärt: „Unsportliches Foul ist für mich klar, von der Nummer 13. Er hält ihn fest, Yebo reißt sich los, das sieht dramatischer aus, als es ist. Danach ist da nichts, wo ich denke, das ist ein unsportliches Foul, das ist alles eher deeskalierend.“ Die folgerichtige Entscheidung: Unsportliches Foul gegen Hamilton.
[–>Die Sequenz mit dem falschen Einwurf und der Rudelbildung lässt das Spiel kippen, die heiße Halle in Chemnitz ist jetzt vollends auf Ost-Knaller-Temperatur. Gilt auch für Yebo, der im Anschluss in drei Minuten sechs Punkte macht und auch noch das dritte persönliche Foul von Hamilton zieht, der erstmal auf die Bank geht.
Das Spiel bleibt eng, ist aber Seiten der Niners gekippt. Die Stars der Chemnitzer übernehmen, neben Yebo sind auch März-MVP Jacob Gilyard und Veteran DeAndre Lansdowne richtig gut im Spiel. Nach Gilyard-Assist trifft Yebo per Dreier zum 82:66 (34.), die Niners sehen wie der sichere Sieger aus.
Doch die Seawolves zeigen, warum auch sie diese Saison um die direkte Play-off-Qualifikation kämpfen, beißen sich ins Spiel zurück. Das Ost-Derby wird nochmal richtig spannend, plötzlich steht’s zwei Minuten vor Schluss nur noch 81:84. 16 Sekunden vor Schluss trifft Malik Osborne mit Foul, stellt per Freiwurf auf 89:90. Mega-Spannung!
ER zeigt es allen: Rekord-Spieler gewinnt Zuschauer-Wahl
Dann patzt ausgerechnet Routinier Lansdowne, wirft den Ball vogelwild ein. Gilyard kommt zwar noch ran, kann aber den Ballverlust nicht verhindern. Osborne bringt Rostock wieder in Führung, mit nur noch acht Sekunden auf der Uhr. Die Niners im Angriff, doch MVP-Kandidat Gilyard verliert den Ball, Chemnitz muss foulen, Pearson trifft beide Freiwürfe zum 93:90.
Das Ende wird immer wilder: Bei 94:92 bleiben den Niners noch 2,7 Sekunden, der Ball fliegt ins Aus, geht an Rostock. Doch beim Video-Check korrigieren sich die Schiedsrichter, die Niners bekommen noch eine Chance mit 1,8 Sekunden. Lansdowne wirft Richtung Ring, wo Nicholas Tischler zum 94:94 stopft – Verlängerung! Die Halle bebt!
Dort ist Chemnitz von Beginn an vorne, bringt den Sieg diesmal nach Hause.
