

A McLaren confirmou mais uma vez que é a equipe a ser batida na atual temporada. No GP de Miami, neste domingo, a escuderia fez mais uma dobradinha na Fórmula 1, com Oscar Piastri em primeiro lugar e Lando Norris em segundo — foi a quinta vitória do time inglês em seis corridas no ano. O pódio foi completado por George Russell, da Mercedes.
Piastri venceu a terceira prova seguida (Bahrein, Arábia Saudita e Miami) e ampliou a vantagem na liderança, com 131 pontos — somou mais sete pelo segundo lugar na corrida sprint. Norris, que conquistou a prova curta de sábado, tem agora 116. Max Verstappen, da Red Bull, segue em terceiro lugar.
Verstappen largou bem, sustentou a primeira posição e ainda deixou Lando Norris, que largara em segundo, para fora da pista. O inglês perdeu algumas posições na primeira volta. Quem se aproveitou da situação foi Piastri, que seguiu o holandês de perto até o ultrapassar no primeiro terço da corrida. Norris, que já havia se recuperado na prova, seguiu o companheiro de McLaren e tomou o segundo lugar do tetracampeão.
Verstappen também perdeu a posição para George Russell, mas tentou se aproximar do piloto da Mercedes na reta final e recuperar o lugar no pódio. Porém, sem sucesso.
Sob a expectativa da chegada da chuva forte —a etapa da F1 Academy foi cancelada mais cedo em virtude do temporal no circuito de Miami —, qualquer pingo na pista já mexia com os boxes das equipes. Mas o aguaceiro não chegou a tempo da corrida, e apenas algumas entradas virtuais do carro de segurança e trocas de pneus movimentaram a prova.
Um dos safety car virtual foi acionado por causa do piloto brasileiro Gabriel Bortoletto. Ele, que havia largado em 13º lugar, sua melhor posição na temporada de estreia, parou o carro na pista por problemas no motor.
— Foi um problema na bomba de combustível. Não tinha mais potência, tive que parar na pista. Uma pena — disse Bortoletto.
Nas voltas finais, Norris ainda tentou dar um último gás e se aproximar do companheiro. Piastri, porém, guiou o carro com confiança até o fim.
