Jalen Hurts started the year in the best way: he won his first Super Bowl with the Philadelphia Eagles by defeating the Kansas City Chiefs of Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce.
The quarterback not only won the Vince Lombardi, but was also chosen as MVP of Super Bowl LIX for his outstanding performance, which included 3 touchdowns on the ground and 2 passing touchdowns.

With this in mind, Jalen wants to repeat his feat with the team in 2026 and is already preparing. Eagles general manager Howie Roseman revealed that Hurts has not taken off from the Philadelphia facility during the preseason. On a recent episode of The Rich Eisen Show, he heaped praise on the 26-year-old quarterback:
Jalen has had an unbelievable start to his career. He’s perhaps one of the most process-focused people I’ve ever met. And when you’re so focused on process, success doesn’t change. You continue to do what has led you to success, and that’s all I’ve seen from Jalen this preseason. He’s here every day…working hard.
The new goal: to achieve a two-time championship

In the same dialogue, Roseman stated that, although after winning a Super Bowl, what the rest would expect is for them to go for the next one. However, with his feet on the ground, he admitted that it is no easy task to achieve that triumph, although he did not deny that it is the team’s next challenge:
“We understand that it’s hard to win championships in the NFL…for us, picking later in the draft and having fewer resources…we all have to do a better job…and find advantages to compete at the championship level. And that’s the goal – to get confetti on our heads.”
Jalen’s numbers
Since becoming a starter last year, Hurts recorded 18 passing touchdowns and 290 3-yard passing yards, personal lows. However, he also raised his pass completion percentage to 68.7% and touchdowns to 5.0%.
These metrics, combined with his mentality and focus that Roseman rightly praised, could pave the way to the next Super Bowl for him and Eagles.
