Vasco melhora sem Vegetti e Coutinho, mas falha de Hugo Moura sela derrota para o Palmeiras

O Vasco deu sinais de melhora e jogou boa parte do tempo de igual para igual com o Palmeiras, em Brasília, mas acabou derrotado depois de uma falha fatal do volante Hugo Moura. Sem Vegetti e Coutinho, poupados, Felipe Maestro mandou a campo uma equipe mais equilibrada física e taticamente, que começou melhor que o adversário. Após acertar mais finalizações e por pouco não sair na frente, o Vasco levou o gol na etapa final, nos pés de Vitor Roque: 1 a 0.

É o sexto jogo seguido sem vitória vascaína, apesar de Felipe ter encontrado boas soluções. Na quarta-feira, o time encara o Puerto Cabello, pela Sul-Americana. No Brasileiro, segue a queda livre, agora na décima-terceira posição.

– Nosso primeiro tempo foi muito bom. Palmeiras teve mais volume no segundo tempo. O erro acontece. A gente treinou, fez aquela jogada o jogo todo. Faz parte. Só erra quem está lá dentro. Tentamos jogar de igual para igual. Temos muitos pontos positivos. Vamos levar o erro como aprendizado para que não volte a acontecer – afirmou o zagueiro João Victor.

Mudanças deixam time mais equilibrado

A decisão de preservar o centroavante Vegetti, artilheiro do time, e o nome de maior peso na criação, Phillipe Coutinho, soou pior depois do resultado diante do Palmeiras, já que a maior dificuldade do Vasco foi concluir a gol com qualidade. Mas para quem acompanhou as últimas exibições da equipe notou uma evolução tática e física, que permitiram um nível de competitividade pouco visto na temporada, ainda mais contra um time como o Palmeiras.

Com uma trinca de meias formada por Hugo Moura, Matheus Cocão e Tchê Tchê, o Vasco conseguiu bloquear as ações do Palmeiras por dentro e sair com alguma qualidade na transição. A boa velocidade no ataque ficou por conta de Loide pela esquerda e Nuno Moreira pelo meio, fazendo as vezes de Coutinho. Na referência, Rayan fazia bem o pivô, mas também caía pelos lados para permitir a chegada dos meias.

No primeiro tempo, foram sete finalizações, quatro delas no gol, contra oito do Palmeiras, nenhuma com perigo. Loide atacou bem o espaço mas nas duas oportunidades que teve, falhou no arremate. No fim do primeiro tempo, o zagueiro João Victor encobriu Weverton, que saiu errado do gol, mas Giay salvou em cima da linha. Como Loide se machucou durante o primeiro tempo, o Vasco perdeu a sua principal jogada. E perdeu também o zagueiro Lucas Freitas por lesão, deixando a defesa vulnerável.

Falha decreta mudança de panorama

Logo no começo do segundo tempo, o Palmeiras deu o primeiro chute no gol. Martínez acertou de fora da área, a bola desviou, e obrigou Léo Jardim a voar para tirar a bola que ia no ângulo. Na saída de bola curta do Vasco, Richard Ríos pressionou Hugo Moura, que errou o passe. Estevão só rolou para Vitor Roque fazer o gol do Palmeiras, seu primeiro na volta ao Brasil.

Com a necessidade de sair, o Vasco cedeu mais espaços. No contra-ataque, Estevão acelerou e por pouco não serviu Roque para ampliar. Desta vez, Hugo Moura cortou e salvou. O técnico Felipe lançou Adson e Paulinho, tirando Nuno e Tchê Tchê. Com menos disposição e com a confiança abalada, o Vasco recuou um pouco. O Palmeiras veio para cima, com Paulinho, e tentou matar o jogo. Flaco López teve chance clara de sair livre na frente do goleiro, mas errou o alvo. Houve outras, mas o Vasco conseguiu se segurar, depois de perder forças para tentar o empate e ser engolido na etapa final.
