A partida entre Botafogo-PB e Flamengo registrou a maior renda do futebol nordestino. O ex-jogador Zinho, que vestiu a camisa rubro-negra, exaltou os 35 mil torcedores que lotaram o estádio Castelão, em São Luís, pela 3ª fase da Copa do Brasil.
Inicialmente, o confronto seria realizado na Paraíba, mas o clube local decidiu vender o mando de campo, apostando justamente na presença maciça dos flamenguistas. Resultado, isso foi um retorno financeiro de R$ 4.626.806.
“A torcida do Flamengo é incomparável, é a maior torcida. No Nordeste, então, nem se fala, em todo lugar do Brasil, para falar a verdade. Os empresários aproveitam quando o jogo é contra o Flamengo para vender o mando de campo, sabem que o estádio vai lotar”, exaltou Zinho, em seu comentário no ESPN FC.
“O Filipe Luís colocou na mente destes atletas um modelo de jogo, estrutura e comprometimento com o jogo. Uma intensidade sempre muito alta. A defesa está sólida, é uma disputa sadia entre Léo Pereira e Danilo”, acrescentou.

Em campo, o Flamengo venceu o Botafogo-PB por 1 a 0, abrindo vantagem por uma vaga nas oitavas de final da competição nacional. Com uma equipe alternativa e alguns garotos, a estrela brilhou para o jovem Joshua, de apenas 17 anos, que balançou as redes.
O Flamengo agora leva a vantagem de um empate para o jogo da volta, que acontece no dia 21 de maio no Maracanã. Se quiser avançar, a equipe paraibana precisa vencer por dois gols de diferença. Qualquer vitória simples dos paraibanos leva a decisão da vaga para a disputa de pênaltis.
