Caio Ribeiro, em análise atrelada ao Santos, vê o Peixe sendo capaz de promover uma arrancada no Brasileirão. Apesar do péssimo início, motivo pelo qual o clube está na vice-lanterna, o ex-jogador acredita que o atual plantel tem condições de reagir. “Eu ainda acho que o time do Santos é de meio para cima da tabela. Tem bons valores individuais, mas deveria estar jogando mais do que está jogando e buscando resultados que está deixando escapar.”, disse Caio Ribeiro, no Globo Esporte.
“Não foi uma partida ruim, (contra o Grêmio) mas é mais uma derrota. Você olha a tabela, vem críticas e falta de confiança. e não se consegue performar.”, acrescentou.

Único clube invicto do Brasileirão, o São Paulo, mesmo sem perder, se encontra distante do topo da tabela. Embora o momento seja oposto na Libertadores, Caio Ribeiro acredita que o campeonato de pontos corridos reserva mais dificuldades que a fase de grupos do torneio continental.
“O empate não faz você saltar na tabela. Alguns resultados estão atrelados aos desfalques de jogadores que não podem jogar. No Campeonato Brasileiro, o nível de enfrentamento é maior que na Libertadores, principalmente na primeira fase.”, opinou.
