Flávio Prado não acredita que o Botafogo terá forças para brigar pelo título do Brasileirão Série A neste ano. Atual campeão da competição, o clube carioca perdeu peças importantes para essa temporada e ainda não engrenou no comando do português Renato Paiva.
“Botafogo ficou muito pelo caminho. Está muito difícil. Lógico que estamos na sétima rodada, mas eu vou muito na linha do Guardiola: nas oito primeiras rodadas se decide os blocos de disputa. Não dá mais, já foi”, antecipou o jornalista, no programa “Bate-Pronto”, da Jovem Pan.
O Glorioso soma apenas oito pontos em sete rodadas no Campeonato Brasileiro e ocupa a 12ª posição neste momento. São duas vitórias, dois empates e três derrotas no torneio de pontos corridos.
Flávio Prado diz que só dois brigam pela taça
Para o experiente comentarista, apenas Flamengo e Palmeiras brigam pelo título do Brasileirão em 2025. Ele excluiu a possibilidade de outros times ameaçarem o protagonismo das duas forças nacionais.
“Eu acho que não tem um terceiro elemento. A gente tem sempre procurado falar de Flamengo e Palmeiras. E aí a gente fica caçando um terceiro elemento, já teve o Atlético-MG, no ano passado o Botafogo, mas para por aí”, disse ele.
“Dessa vez não tem um terceiro elemento, eles vão ficar brigando até o fim. Em relação ao título, o bloco está bem definido. Acho que só esses dois vão brigar pelo título”, completou Flávio Prado.

Flamengo prioriza o Brasileirão Série A
Sem levantar a taça da competição desde 2020, o Fla começou a atual temporada tendo o Brasileirão como principal foco. O diretor esportivo José Boto e o técnico Filipe Luís confirmaram isso em entrevistas no começo do ano.
Após derrota por 2 a 1 contra o Cruzeiro, no último domingo (4), o Rubro-Negro ocupa a terceira posição, com 14 pontos. A liderança está sendo dividida entre Palmeiras e Red Bull Bragantino, ambos com 16 pontos.
