Showdown im Kampf um die TV-Rechte am DFB-Pokal ab der Saison 2026/27 (bis 2029/30): Nach BILD-Info entscheiden die Geschäftsführung und der Aufsichtsrat der DFB GmbH und Co. KG diesen Freitag, welche Free- und Pay-TV-Sender nach Ende der noch laufenden Auktion den Zuschlag für die Live-Spiele und die Highlight-Zusammenfassung erhalten.

Ausgeschrieben sind drei Topspiel-Szenarien: eines mit 15 und eines mit 13 Partien. Diese beiden können sowohl von Free- als auch von Pay-TV-Sendern erworben werden. Darüber hinaus noch eines mit neun Livespielen, das nur von Free-TV-Sendern gekauft werden kann.
Dabei gilt für die Varianten mit 15 (in der nächsten Saison noch bei ARD und ZDF) und 13 Topspielen: Auch wenn diese von einem Pay-TV-Sender wie Sky oder RTL+ erworben werden, müssen davon mindestens neun Livespiele im frei empfangbaren Fernsehen laufen, etwa durch eine Sublizenzierung (oder zum Beispiel bei RTL im Free-TV). Das gilt für ein Spiel je Pokalrunde, beide Halbfinals sowie das Endspiel in Berlin.

Für die Highlight-Verwertung aller 63 Spiele werden zwei Varianten (Free und Pay) angeboten: „Main“ mit bis zu zwölf Minuten pro Spiel ab Spielende sowie „Basic“ mit bis zu sechs Minuten pro Spiel ab 24 Uhr am Spieltag.
Zuletzt hatte der DFB aus dem Verkauf der Pokal-Rechte mehr als 70 Mio. Euro pro Saison kassiert.
