Nesta terça-feira (6), a CBF divulgou o vencedor do prêmio Goleiro Betano, com Weverton, jogador do Palmeiras, sendo eleito o melhor da posição no mês de abril do Campeonato Brasileiro.

Com apenas dois gols sofridos em cinco jogos e inclusive com defesa de pênalti no confronto contra o Fortaleza, o titular da meta do Verdão foi escolhido como o melhor da posição em votação que contou com jornalistas de todo o Brasil.

O Palmeiras teve cinco jogos em abril válidos pelo Campeonato Brasileiro, sofrendo apenas dois gols. Esse desempenho deixa a equipe alviverde com a melhor defesa do torneio, sendo vazada em três oportunidades após sete confrontos.

O Verdão venceu o Sport por 2 a 1, superando em seguida o rival Corinthians por 2 a 0, Internacional por 1 a 0 e o Fortaleza por 2 a 1. Em seguida, um tropeço frente o Bahia com derrota por 1 a 0.

O bom desempenho no mês de abril e a vitória na última rodada contra o Vasco por 1 a 0 colocaram o Palmeiras na liderança geral do Brasileirão, com 16 pontos ganhos, com a mesma pontuação do Red Bull Bragantino, mas com um saldo de gols superior ao time de Bragança Paulista.

Buscando manter a primeira colocação do Campeonato Brasileiro, o Verdão terá mais um clássico pela frente no próximo domingo (11), recebendo o São Paulo na Arena Barueri.

Scott Frost reportedly received 5-year, $22.1 million deal to return to UCF

Scott Frost isn’t taking much of a pay cut moving back to UCF after all.Frost, who was hired to return to lead the Knights in December, received a five-year, $22.1 million deal with the school, The Associated Press reported on Tuesday.
