Hampshire's Nancy Harman believes cricket is "less inclusive" after the ECB banned transgender women from female competitions at all levels. The ECB said the policy change was "necessary" after the UK Supreme Court ruled on the status of transgender women under UK equality law on April 16, deciding that the definition of a "woman" and "sex" in the Equality Act 2010 refers to "a biological woman and biological sex" - the sex they were assigned at birth.Trans women were not permitted to take part in the top two tiers of elite women's cricket and The Hundred since the start of this year, but could still compete throughout recreational cricket and up to tier three of the women's game. However, this new ruling confirmed transgender women can no longer play women's cricket at any level with immediate effect."I'm disappointed by the [ECB's] ruling," […]

In nine starts he has never been out of the first three and got his head in-front on his last start in the Prix Chaudenay at ParisLongchamp. This looks a good starting spot for the St Leger runner-up with Ryan Moore taking the ride. He has previous course experience, winning the Chester Stakes, so […]
Lewis Hamilton and Ferrari made headlines for the wrong reasons at the Miami Grand Prix as the seven-time world champion's infuriated radio messages attracted much attention.Running an alternative strategy that put him on a different tyre compound to his team-mate Charles Leclerc, Hamilton became frustrated when he quickly closed on the Monegasque shortly after the race's only round of pit stops and wasn't immediately let through to chase down the Mercedes of Kimi Antonelli for sixth. The seven-time world champion sent a series of transmissions expressing his dismay as the pit wall hesitated, rejected and then finally granted his request, by which point Hamilton felt too much life had been taken out of his tyres. His comments included the suggestion that the decision-making amounted to "not good teamwork", while he also referenced a situation during the Chinese Grand Prix when he […]
BOSTON — To the mob out there that believes Celtics-Knicks has generally been relegated to kitchen patrol in the century-old Boston-New York Border War, we give you Wednesday night, TD Garden, Game 2, Eastern Conference semifinals. In emerging with a 91-90 victory over the Celtics to take a two-zip lead in this series, the Knicks have muscled their way to the front lines of the Border War. This makes it two games in a row the Knicks have roared back from a 20-point deficit to smother the Celtics, which means they are two victories away from registering one of the biggest upsets in recent NBA history.AdvertisementSo much for the theory that the Celtics were merely rusty in Game 1, or that the outcome would surely awaken some sort of beast that lurks inside the defending NBA champions. Indeed, Game 2 began […]
There are only so many times a promising squad can give everything of themselves throughout the slog of a season. The unrelenting schedule of prepare, play, recover, prepare, play, recover; the family sacrifices and time away; the psychological strain of being constantly and fiercely judged for every detail of your working output; the physical pain of injuries and rehab. Only so many times a squad can buy in, believe, and convince themselves they can lift silverware as reward for their efforts only to drop the prize and end up in tears.AdvertisementThat’s the general thinking anyway. Less than an hour after Arsenal’s road to Munich ended in Paris, in the bowels of the Parc des Princes Mikel Arteta fielded a number of loaded questions about the ramifications of another nearly attempt at landing an important trophy. There is a danger, when it comes to Paris Saint-Germain, of going overboard on their status as plucky outsiders and untested youngsters, in this increasingly impressive post-Kylian Mbappe era. This is, after all, a club of staggering wealth who have dominated their domestic league to a downright tedious level over the past decade, who are capable of signing star players from Napoli, Milan and their final opponents Inter, amongst others. This is, more or less, the level they should be at. But it’s still difficult not to marvel at quite how complete PSG are, so soon after they were a side with some overwhelming strengths and quite pitiful weaknesses.AdvertisementWhich is not to say they are now perfect. At times they lack combination play in attack, they can be exposed in the right-back zone, and they have been indebted to goalkeeper Gianluigi […]
