Péssima notícia para o Golden State Warriors: Stephen Curry sofreu uma lesão na coxa esquerda e desfalcará a equipe por pelo menos uma semana. Segundo a ESPN americana, o armador teve constatada uma lesão muscular de grau 1 durante o jogo 1 da semifinal da Conferência Oeste contra o Minnesota Timberwolves.
Ainda conforme o portal, o retorno exato de Curry dependerá de como ele reagirá ao tratamento de sua primeira lesão muscular da carreira. O armador se lesionou no segundo quarto do jogo, tentou continuar em quadra, mas logo pediu substituição e foi direto para os vestiários.
A tendência é que Curry fique fora pelo menos até o jogo 4 da semifinal, que será realizando na segunda-feira, dia 12. Nas outras partidas, se necessário, dependerá da evolução do armador de 37 anos — O jogo 5 será em 14 de maio, seguido pelo jogo 6 no 18 e pelo jogo 7 no dia 20.
Após a partida, o técnico Steve Kerr, em entrevista coletiva, disse que Curry está arrasado com a lesão, mas confia nos demais jogadores de seu elenco. O Warriors venceu o Minnesota Timberwolves, por 99 a 88, em Minneapolis, no jogo 1da semifinal da Conferência Oeste.
— Ele está obviamente arrasado. Mas os caras o pegaram e fizeram uma ótima partida, e obviamente estamos todos preocupados com o Steph, mas faz parte do jogo — disse Steve Kerr.
O próximo jogo entre Minnesota Timberwolves e Golden State Warriors será nesta quinta-feira, dia 08 de maio, às 21h30 (horário de Brasília), novamente no Target Center, em Minneapolis.
