Fifa confirma oito cidades na Copa do Mundo feminina de 2027; conheça as sedes

A Copa do Mundo feminina de 2027, que será disputada no Brasil de 24 de junho a 25 de julho, terá apenas oito cidades-sede. Conforme antecipado pelo blog Carlota, o pedido foi feito pelo governo federal à Fifa para diminuir os custos da operação do megaevento. As oito escolhidas foram: Porto Alegre, Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, Belo Horizonte, Brasília, Salvador, Recife e Fortaleza. Das 12 postulantes a receber jogos das 32 seleções, quatro ficaram de fora: Manaus, Belém, Cuiabá e Natal.

O anúncio foi feito pelo presidente da Fifa, Gianni Infantino, em suas redes sociais. Em português, ele parabenizou as cidades brasileiras escolhidas, enalteceu o país sede e agradeceu a todas as concorrentes.

“Tenho a alegria de compartilhar que as oito cidades-sede selecionadas para receber a Copa do Mundo Feminina da FIFA 2027 🇧🇷 após um processo criterioso e competitivo são: Belo Horizonte, Brasília, Fortaleza, Porto Alegre, Recife, Rio de Janeiro, Salvador e São Paulo. Parabéns a todos os envolvidos nessas cidades e um grande agradecimento a Belém, Cuiabá, Manaus e Natal — a escolha foi muito difícil, pois todas as candidaturas apresentaram um nível excepcional. Uma jornada empolgante e inesquecível nos espera e, com o futebol feminino se unindo pela primeira vez na América do Sul graças ao Brasil, estou entusiasmado para trabalhar junto com todas as cidades para fazer desta uma experiência memorável, que tenha um impacto positivo e duradouro”.

A decisão teve caráter técnico conforme o menor investimento possível. Tanto o governo federal quanto a Fifa querem evitar grandes gastos com o Mundial, que será sediado na América do Sul pela primeira vez. Sedes que precisariam de mais intervenções nos estádios ou em outros equipamentos foram limadas.

Outro fator considerado foi a infraestrutura das cidades. Aquelas capazes de receber várias seleções países ao mesmo tempo — desde a edição de 2023, o Mundial feminino aumentou de tamanho e é disputado por 32 equipes. Por isso, cidades com maior capacidade hoteleira, de transporte e estrutura de treinamento levaram vantagem.

Visitas técnicas

Todas as 12 cidades receberam visitas técnicas dos comissários da Fifa desde o ano passado. Eles avaliaram os estádios concorrentes, indicaram as melhorias a serem feitas e ajustaram as necessidades, como a suspensão do uso dos naming rights e dos aluguéis de camarotes durante o período da competição. Além de infraestrutura técnica, hoteleira, transportes e aeroportos de cada local.

Havia grande expectativa por parte das cidades do Norte. No caderno da candidatura, a CBF havia enviado o projeto com dez sedes, incluindo Manaus e Cuiabá. Inclusive, com a ideia do jogo de abertura e da final serem no Maracanã. Mas, em setembro passado, mais duas capitais entraram na briga: Belém e Natal.

No fim, a infraestrutura das cidades mais desenvolvidas no futebol — masculino e feminino — pesou na escolha. O argumento das candidatas de levar a maior competição da modalidade para perto dos povos originários não foi suficiente.

Seleções participantes

No fim de 2024, a Fifa anunciou como serão distribuídas as 32 vagas no Mundial. Ao todo, 29 serão garantidas de forma direta — o Brasil já está garantido por ser país sede. As três restantes serão definidas em um torneio playoff disputado por 10 equipes entre novembro de 2026 e fevereiro de 2027.

A divisão das vagas por continente:

  • AFC (Ásia): seis vagas diretas
  • CAF (África): quatro vagas diretas
  • Concacaf (América do Norte e Central): quatro vagas diretas
  • Conmebol (América do Sul): três vagas diretas mais a vaga do Brasil, garantida automaticamente por ser o país sede
  • OFC (Oceania): uma vaga direta
  • Uefa (Europa): 11 vagas diretas

Torneio playoff

O torneio contará com 10 equipes e será disputado em duas fases:

  • Duas vagas para a Ásia
  • Duas vagas para a África
  • Duas vagas para a Concacaf (ambas as equipes se classificam automaticamente para a segunda fase pelo desempenho na Copa do Mundo Feminina 2023)
  • Duas vagas para a CONMEBOL (o time melhor classificado segundo o Ranking Mundial Feminino da Fifa se classificará automaticamente para a segunda fase em virtude da classificação do Brasil como país sede)
  • Uma vaga para a Oceania
  • Uma vaga para a Uefa (classificado automaticamente para a segunda fase pelo desempenho na Copa do Mundo Feminina da FIFA 2023)

A primeira fase acontecerá entre novembro e dezembro de 2026 em local a ser definido com seis equipes classificadas com base no último Ranking Mundial Feminino da Fifa antes do sorteio do playoff.

As duas melhores equipes se classificam à fase final, que será disputada em fevereiro de 2027. Os times se juntarão a duas seleções da Concacaf, uma da Conmebol e uma da Uefa. O sorteio definirá três duelos, com uma partida eliminatória direta que vai determinar as três últimas classificadas ao Mundial. Equipes da mesma confederação não poderão ser sorteadas no mesmo confronto.
