Na suada vitória por 2 a 1 contra o Carabobo, na última terça-feira, os artilheiros da noite foram Vitinho e Cuiabano. Foi a primeira vez que o camisa 66 — responsável pela finalização que originou o rebote aproveitado pelo companheiro — balançou as redes na temporada, e a segunda do lateral-direito. Ele também havia marcado contra o Fluminense. Além disso, Telles anotou um gol contra o Capital e Mateo Ponte, no confronto com o Juventude.
Em termos táticos, esse é um dos grandes legados do trabalho de Renato Paiva no Botafogo até o momento. Antes mesmo de estrear oficialmente pela equipe, o treinador português já explicava como queria esse maior protagonismo ofensivo por parte dos seus laterais.
