The Philadelphia Eagles star defensive tackle recently went viral after unveiling a massive, full-body tattoo dedicated to the city, his team, and his roots – a bold personal statement following his first Super Bowl win.
But with permanence comes scrutiny. The artwork itself is undeniably elaborate. Featuring the Philadelphia skyline, a towering eagle, spiritual symbols like an angel crushing the devil, and even a South Apopka street sign,
Carter‘s design is a layered mix of pride, faith, and identity. The piece, reportedly designed over several months with input from multiple artists, stretches across his upper body and limbs.It’s a masterpiece. But that hasn’t stopped the internet from doing what the internet does best.

Fans applaud the art – and question the timing
As the video of the tattoo session circulated online, reactions came quickly. While many fans admired the commitment and detail of the design, others couldn’t help but ask the inevitable question: what if he gets traded?
“This is gonna be funny as sh*t when they trade him,” one user wrote, complete with laughing emojis. Another added, “Better hope he doesn’t get traded.”
And it’s not just the ink that stirred discussion. Carter also admitted to being put under anesthesia during the session – a necessary step, given the scale and intensity of the tattooing process.
But some fans turned that into joke fodder too. “Don’t count. Bro got put under anesthesia,” one remarked. “Anesthesia tattoo?!” another chimed in.
While the ribbing was mostly in good fun, it underscores how closely players’ off-field decisions are scrutinized – especially ones that feel like long-term bets in a short-term business. The NFL is rarely forgiving when it comes to job security, and Carter, despite his talent, is not immune to that reality.
Still, it’s clear Carter isn’t losing sleep over hypotheticals. His play has been dominant, and his investment in Philly runs deeper than just a contract. The tattoo might raise eyebrows, but it also speaks volumes about how he sees himself – as a fixture in this city and this franchise.
Could the Eagles trade him someday? Technically, yes. But with a Super Bowl already under his belt, elite production on the field, and fan-favorite status off it, the odds of that seem slim – at least for now.
And if the day ever does come where he suits up for another team? As one fan pointed out, “He’s rich enough to deal with that problem when it comes up.”
