Renato Paiva vê vitória ‘justa’ do Botafogo e naturaliza pressão no cargo: ‘Preciso encontrar soluções’

Com o 2 a 1 contra o Carabobo, na Venezuela, o técnico Renato Paiva conquistou sua primeira vitória fora de casa sob o comando do Botafogo. Além disso, os gols marcados por Vitinho e Cuiabano representaram os primeiros do alvinegro longe do Nilton Santos sob o comando do técnico português. Por isso e pelas circunstâncias da partida, o comandante comemorou o resultado.

— Como eu esperava, um jogo difícil. Uma equipe que nos últimos oito jogos só perdeu para o Botafogo. Uma equipe que obviamente é organizada, tentou jogar no nosso erro, tentou jogar no contra-ataque, com os jogadores muito rápidos na frente, algo que nós conseguimos controlar bem. Destaco a personalidade, a reação e o caráter dos jogadores que foram atrás de uma vitória que era muito importante em função dos resultados anteriores que nós tivemos. Era fundamental ganhar aqui, conseguimos — afirmou Paiva.

Ao longo do primeiro tempo, o alvinegro teve três boas chances de marcar. Duas com Rwan Cruz, que as desperdiçou, e outra com Vitinho, que abriu o placar após rebote em finalização de Cuiabano. No entanto, a segunda etapa foi diferente. Com mais confiança, o Carabobo foi melhor que o alvinegro e chegou ao empate com Aponte. Menos mal para o Botafogo que, no fim, Cuiabano marcou após passe de Allan e deu a vitória ao time carioca, que segue na terceira colocação do grupo A.

Mesmo com todas essas alternâncias, Renato Paiva afirmou que foi uma vitória merecida do Botafogo. O treinador valorizou os jogadores que saíram do banco de reservas.

— Uma palavra para os jogadores que vieram do banco. Mesmo com todas as faltas de jogadores que temos, deram uma resposta muito positiva. Não é fácil entrar num jogo desses. Complicou ainda mais quando o Carabobo empatou. Foi ainda mais para trás e nos levou a mexer taticamente para encontrar uma fórmula não suicida, mas muito arriscada de atacar. Acabou por nos dar o resultado. Acho que é uma vitória justa. Nós tivemos muito bem, controlámos tudo isso sem dar grandes oportunidades ao nosso adversário. Depois daquela que tivemos e não concretizamos, o jogo ficou em aberto até o final. É uma boa vitória da nossa parte, até pelo momento instável — disse o treinador.

Com cinco vitórias, dois empates e cinco derrotas sob o comando do Botafogo, Renato Paiva segue bastante criticado pela torcida. Apesar disso, o treinador disse levar com naturalidade a pressão no cargo.

— Esse escudo (do Botafogo) te dá pressão todo dia. Não tem jeito. Futebol é isso: pressão, pressão e pressão. Se você não ganhar, vão te cobrar. Não só no Brasil, mas em todo lugar. É universal: querem que você ganhe. Então tenho que me concentrar em fazer o meu trabalho. Se a pressão influenciar meu trabalho, não posso estar aqui. Preciso fazer meu trabalho conscientemente, obviamente também consciente dos resultados. Tenho que lidar com o exterior, mas o que me preocupa é o interior. Gerir meus jogadores, encontrar soluções nos momentos mais difíceis e continuar a trabalhar, que é a única coisa que posso fazer para ultrapassar esses momentos difíceis — concluiu.
