
Egle se představil loni na mistrovství světa v Ostravě a je v kádru i pro letošní šampionát ve Stockholmu a Herningu. V uplynulé sezoně si připsal ve slovenské extralize v 53 zápasech 16 branek a 18 asistencí.
„Haralds je tvořivý centr, který se dobře orientuje v útočném pásmu a umí vytvořit gólové šance pro spoluhráče. Svojí hrou by měl přinést týmu zvýšený bodový příspěvek. Je to také reprezentant, zná se velmi dobře s Janisem Jaksem a Robertsem Mamčicsem,“ řekl sportovní ředitel Energie Jiří Kalous a jmenoval lotyšské obránce, s kterými se Egle potká na západě Čech.
Egle odešel už v 15 letech do Severní Ameriky. Po působení v mládežnických týmech Green Mountain Glades a Portland Jr. Pirates působil v USHL v Muskegonu, Madisonu a týmu Chicago Steel a v letech 2016 až 2020 na Clarkson University v NCAA.
V sezoně 2020/21 si zahrál poprvé slovenskou extraligu za maďarský Miškovec a dohrál ji v Manitobě v AHL na farmě Winnipegu. V roce 2022 odtud odešel do Langenthalu do druhé nejvyšší švýcarské soutěže a dva zápasy odehrál i o patro výš v Langanu. Předloni odešel do Liptovského Mikuláše.
„Rozhodnutí bylo z velké části ovlivněno tím, jak profesionálně celý klub působí, a také atraktivním stylem hokeje, který se tu hraje. Mluvil jsem i s dalšími lotyšskými hráči z Varů, potvrdili mi, že v kabině je dobrá atmosféra. To všechno mě ještě více motivuje k přípravě na nadcházející sezonu. A samozřejmě, Karlovy Vary jsou krásné město,“ uvedl Egle.
