Der Grund: Sohn Emil (7) geht seit Herbst auf die dreisprachige Internationale Grundschule – und Papa Marc musste ran. Ebenso wie SCM-Hallensprecher Stephan Michme (53). Dessen Tochter lernt dort ebenfalls, beide teilten sich am Donnerstag den Job. Schmedt: „Es gibt schulnützliche Stunden, die man als Eltern erbringen sollte. Es war mein erster Einsatz, aber sicher nicht der Letzte.“

Sein Fazit? „Beides ist herausfordernd – vor der Schule ist weniger Stress, aber man muss auch hier hellwach sein.“

Kaum war die Kelle eingepackt, ging’s für Schmedt zurück ins Handball-Geschäft – und da ist der SCM heiß auf den Endspurt. Finalrunde in der Champions-League erreicht. Und in der Bundesliga nur ein Pünktchen hinter Berlin und Melsungen. „Dreimal Final Four in drei Jahren – das ist brutal. Und in der Liga ist alles möglich. Wir müssen unsere Kräfte sammeln und dann in Gummersbach abliefern.“ Nach der Länderspielpause geht dort am 15. Mai der Ligaalltag weiter.
