Destaque do Corinthians em 2024, Yuri Alberto se mantém como um dos atletas mais importantes do elenco alvinegro, sendo o artilheiro isolado do clube na temporada, com 11 gols marcados. Rivaldo, ex-jogador do Timão, fez diversos elogios para o atacante.
Para o pentacampeão mundial, além da qualidade para balançar as redes, o camisa 9 é um atleta que se entrega sempre e que deve virar ídolo da equipe paulista e que merece chance na seleção brasileira.

Seguindo da maneira que ele está jogando, vai se tornar um grande ídolo da torcida do Corinthians porque é um jogador que faz gol, um jogador que nos momentos difíceis quando o Timão necessita tá sempre presente, dando entrevistas quando o time não joga bem, além de marcar gols decisivos pro clube”, declarou Rivaldo em entrevista à Betfair.
Contratado em 2022 junto ao Zenit, Yuri Alberto marcou 68 gols e deu 17 assistências em 178 partidas disputadas desde que chegou ao clube.
Hoje ele lidera a artilharia do Corinthians no século. Além disso, com os três gols marcados na vitória por 4 a 2 contra o Internacional o camisa 9 chegou a 43 gols na Neo Química Arena, dividindo o posto de maior goleador do estádio do Timão com o paraguaio Ángel Romero.

Yuri terá tempo para se tornar ídolo alvinegro?
Mesmo com o bom desempenho ofensivo, Yuri Alberto não é uma unanimidade dentre os torcedores do clube. Tanto que em 2023 uma boa parcela da torcida era favorável a venda do jogador. Em menor número, as críticas também apareceram neste ano quando o atleta viveu um jejum de gols.
Dessa forma, ainda não é possível colocar o camisa 9 como um ídolo do Timão. E pode ser que o jogador não chegue a esse patamar. Isso porque o atleta é alvo frequente de clubes da Europa.
Em outras janelas de transferência o Corinthians recusou propostas recebidas. Mas são grandes as chances de que no meio do ano a diretoria aceite vender seu artilheiro para aliviar as finanças alvinegras.
