Shedeur Sanders isn’t sulking about his draft slide. He’s suiting up, showing up, and already putting in the work.
On Thursday morning, the rookie quarterback walked into the Cleveland Browns’ training facility for his first day of minicamp. According to the team’s official X account, Sanders arrived right on time, navigating the lot with ease, duffle bag in hand and wearing one of his signature dollar sign hoodies-a nod to his old No. 2 at Colorado, even though he’ll be rocking No. 12 in Cleveland.
Tom Brady reveals message he sent to Shedeur Sanders during the Draft
Inside, it was business as usual: paperwork, safety briefings, ID photos. Outside, expectations swirl. Sanders fell to the fifth round in the 2025 NFL Draft, going 144th overall-a freefall that surprised analysts and fans alike. But for Sanders, that just means the chip on his shoulder got heavier.
A surprise workout turns into a moment of inspiration

Just a few days before minicamp, Sanders was already hunting for reps. On May 7, he hit up his trainer Ryan Adams looking for someone-anyone-to throw to. Adams made a call. The result? A late afternoon workout with four Ohio high school players at St. Ignatius’ practice field, including Louisville commit Milan Parris.
“When I got the call, I thought there was no way,”Parris told the Akron Beacon Journal.“I mean, he just got drafted. And now he’s here, asking to throw with us? Crazy.”
Sanders ran the teens through a two-hour session-routes, timing drills, and tips on technique. Parris admitted he was starstruck at first, but locked in quickly. “He was all about timing. He kept telling us, ‘Stay loose, trust your break.’ You could tell he’s focused on adapting to the next level.”
The Browns aren’t expecting Sanders to take the starting job from Deshaun Watson right away. But what they are seeing is a rookie who’s not waiting around for opportunities-he’s making them.
Meanwhile, first-round pick Mason Graham also reported to camp on Thursday. He didn’t get the same social media shoutout for his punctuality, but he did walk away with a new nickname: “Mini Camp Mason.” One that, let’s be honest, is probably going to stick.
For Sanders, the nickname might come later. For now, he’s building something more valuable: trust, respect, and momentum.
